Equal Employment Opportunities for the Specially-abled

Start Date :
Sep 11, 2014
Last Date :
Sep 30, 2015
00:00 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Deliberate on actionable points to provide equal employment opportunities to the specially-abled across various sectors.
There should be a National Portal for Physically disabled persons separately where they can create their accounts, feed the disability type, can get access to all types Gov. opportunities they have been provided, they can give their views directly on that portal. It is seen that most of disabled are not using the gov. policies/facilities being provided to them because they are lacking in getting the adequate information on a single platform. This platform will also help gov. to get the exact data.
2. INSTRUCT ALL PSUs & GOVT. DEPTS.TO IMMEDIATELY MAKE THEIR OFFICES ACCESSIBLE
3. INSTRUCT TO ACCORD APPROVAL FOR ALL BUILDINGS ONLY IF THEY ARE ACCESSIBLE.
4. INSTRUCT TO PROVIDE RESERVE PARKING AT ALL BUILDINGS
SIR, EVEN NOW DISABLED ARE SEEN AS AN ALIEN.
SIR, WE GET LOTS SYMPATHY.
SIR, YES WE GET LOTS SYMPATHY. BUT IN ACTION ????????
SIR, ONLY YOUR PERSONAL INTERVENTION CAN CHANGE THIS.
SIR, THIS DECADE SHOULD REMAIN SPECIAL AND A DECADE OF CHANGE FOR DISABLED.
1. UNDERTAKE MEDIA CAMPAIGN CONTINUOSLY FOR SIX OR MORE MONTHS TO SENSITIZE. THIS WILL HAVE GREATER IMPACT AS IT IS FROM THE HIGHEST OFFICE OF THE COUNTRY. THIS LEADS TO INCREASED ACCEPTANCE OF DISABLED OUTSIDE HOME.
STRONG INSTRUCTIONS WITH PUNITIVE ACTION IS NEEDED FOR THE FOLLOWING:
I REPEAT PUNITIVE ACTION, AS MOST HAVE CASUAL APPROACH
1. INSTRUCT ALL PSUs & GOVT. DEPTS.TO IDENTIFY SUITABLE JOBS
2. CLEAR RESERVED POSTS BACKLOG IMMEDIATELY
3. MAKE ALL OFFICES ACCESSIBLE AS THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS CITED FOR UNEMPLOYABILITY.
4. PROVIDE SPECIAL TRAINING IN ASSOCIATION WITH PVT. SECTOR
5. SENSITIZE PVT. SECTOR FOR EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES. THERE IS LOT OF DISCRIMINATION IN PVT SECTOR.
I'm Specially-abled,
If government tallking about equal employment opportunities then each sector should be consider. As i want to do something in defence sector but it is impossible for person like me to get in. I am not telling that i want to stand on border, facing enmy or want to be a part of forces. This things are totally impractical. But forces are not only way to get in defence. There are departments like cyber security or intelligence who needs people mentally strong. That's it.
I have only one line solution to improve lifes of specially-abled across the various sectors. Instead of giving reservations do the following. If a specially abled person gets qualified for a post by their own hard work they will be given increments more frequent than others. In this way they will start searching for their own solutions. I do not mean remove reservations totally at once. But those who accomplish their own disregard by their own will they will be rewarded.
Not just disabled, equal opportunities for Eunuch as well. Society needs to evolve, such badlegi tab desh badlega. India should aim to become beggerless in next 5years. A lot of opportunities can be created with the help of wealthy corporate houses. India can be reframed and be made Disparity free with the help corporate houses. Strong but gradual steps are needed in this direction.
there is a trust in Chennai known as FREEDOM TRUST. FREEDOM stands for Foundation for Rehabilitation Education Empowerment of the Disabled of Madras..
it is doing a commendable work in empowering differently abled citizens.
such trusts can be encouraged and supported by Government of India
Hello,
As we all aware of the situation faced by the UPSC topper while dealing with the posting. Similar situations are being faced by Multiple disability holders. Because at one side they are not eligible in certain service conditions and at other side government don't consider them as qualified physically disabled person ... Because one should have more than 40% in particular disability while having more than 40% overall disability (due to multiple disability) won't count.
