In order to design an interoperable ecosystem of data, applications and processes, there is a need to formulate a policy for the Government Organizations to provide Open Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). The “Policy on Open APIs for Government of India” has been drafted to encourage formal use of Open APIs in Government Organizations. This policy sets out the Government’s approach on the use of “Open APIs” to promote software interoperability for all e-Governance applications & systems and provide access to data & services for promoting participation of citizens and other stakeholders.

You are requested to provide your inputs on the policy and suggest implementation approach across the government.

To read the abstract of Open API Policy please refer the following URL: https://static.mygov.in/static/s3fs-public/Draft_Policy%20on%20Open%20AP...

Last date for sending your suggestions is 10th November 2014.

Bangalore Lakes are dying. Even after writing to environment ministry no sign of action.State Government sleeping. I am depressed. Lake development authorities purposefully allowed encroachments. Here is the google map snap shot for encroachment https://drive.google.com/?tab=mo&authuser=0#folders/0B_VLwTcnPfe_MFBXQTlwMkhxZm8 All lakes are naturally connected. But now most of them are encroached. It can be a great pilot idea to connect these lakes before planning for connecting rivers.

Very Nice. I have to suggest... 1. There should be some regualatory authority to control OPEN APIS. 2. Every organization subscribing to any open API should obtain necessary license from the regulartory authority as well as provider of that API. 3. Indigenous technology to be promoted for security related issues. (i.e. there should be some organization like verisign/ dexia/ geotrust in india to ensure online security. I'll draft a policy if I can get positive feedback by mail abhie32@gmail.com

Dear Sir, I would like to give one suggestion on enhancing reach of quality education. Just like RBI laws for opening a branch in metro / urban center the bank has to open branches in rural area why can't we enforce it to our big educational institutions. The reach of such big and good educational institutions is limited to Metros and Urban centers. This will bring change and also give employment to local good teachers who move to urban centers for employment.
