Nearly a decade and half has passed since the National Policy for Empowerment of Women, 2001 was formulated. Since then significant strides in global technology and information systems have placed the Indian economy on a trajectory of higher growth impacting the general populace and women, in particular in unique and different ways. The discourse on women’s empowerment has been gradually evolving over the last few decades, wherein paradigm shifts have occurred –from seeing women as mere recipients of welfare benefits to mainstreaming gender concerns and engaging them in the development process of the country. These changes have brought forth fresh opportunities and possibilities for women’s empowerment while at the same time presenting new and emerging challenges which along with persisting socio-economic problems continue to hinder gender equality and holistic empowerment of women.

The policy envisions a society in which, women attain their full potential and are able to participate as equal partners in all spheres of life. It also emphasises the role of an effective framework to enable the process of developing policies, programmes and practices which will ensure equal rights and opportunities for women.

The broad objective of the policy is to create a conducive socio-cultural, economic and political environment to enable women enjoy de jure and de facto fundamental rights and realize their full potential.

5. (II) (xiv) Regular Audit on a continuous basis, of the various schemes and incentives, subsidies that are being offered to promote girls education will be undertaken to assess whether these interventions have resulted in transformative changes.
Objection: As Child ministry is under WCD why is audit not being already done. Why audit only for girls education. This way one will take away the morsels from mouth of boys and hand it over to auditors who would decide what to do with it.

Poverty does not come in gender, male are more in poverty as compared to females. There are already separate schemes for education, jobs, subsidies for women, while no such benefits are available to men. Girls & Women are beneficiaries of schemes like LAADLI LAXMI, few states have made provision to give gold to girls during marriage. Laptops & Cycles are given free to all girl students in few states. While no such benefits is available to boys.

1) Tomorrow Your daughters have to marry the boys of Today. If you don't help the boys win today. You cannot help your daughter tomorrow.

There are numerous citations from Hon'ble Supreme Court, High courts and Law commission Of India about misuse of women centric laws to settle personal scores. Even supreme court was annoyed to the extent that it used word "Legal Terrorism" for misuse of IPC498a.
Several cases are brought to notice about misuse of Rape laws, Sexual assault laws where main motive is to extort money in the name of RAPE/ Sexual Assault.

Still National Policy is brought by WCD to deprive Men of Basic Rights

There has been a dramatic increase in women empowerment in the past couple of decades and I think this grouth is sustainable. There are enough laws already to empower women and in some cases to over power men to such an extent that even a street dog feels safer. Women today are much safer, more educated and have more privillages than few decades ago. I believe men's rights are being crushed due to vote bank politics . Which should be condemned by all.

There are so many policies at the moment which are not implemented and currently been abused and mis used.

It's imperative first to ensure the existing policies are effectively implemented and actioned rather tha formulating new ones.

As growing nation in the world we are looking at policies in the current draft which will push back the thinkING of modern society by 100 years.

Hence I think there is no need for any new policies at the monet.

Thank you

11. WCD has been blind in drafting this bill, what about the security and future of a child who is alienated from the father and desperately want to meet the father?

12. what steps WCD is taking to prevent mental, physical and social abuse of separated child when the mother is adulterous, remarries and child suffer in life?
