Saharanpur Nagar Nigam, since March 2016, has been campaigning for soliciting views of citizens and of various Departments of the State Government for Stage-2 Smart City Proposals. Efforts are continuing to hold interactive meetings with various Associations, Unions, Educational and Health Institutions, different NGOs, and professional organizations for their suggestions to firm up the proposals.

The Smart City Challenges which emerged for framing proposals listed for Discussion and your valuable suggestions are as follows;

1.Area Based Development to be expanded by clubbing Site No. 1 with site No. 2 from 700 acres to 1700 acres with Retrofitting of 1673 acres and redevelopment of 70 acres.
2.Retrofitting to have Ist Priority and redevelopment the 2nd priority.
3.The projects relating to Green field, canal based water supply, railway over bridge, and under passes at Collectorate/civil courts and civil hospital being outside the Area Based development have to be dropped for the purpose of Smart City Proposals.
4.Handicraft and horticulture which have given identity to city and generating job opportunities and contributing through exports to the national economy to be included for sustainability.
5.Major threats of depleting ground water reservoir, fire hazards, environmental issues, sewerage system, encroachments, mobility, and efforts to transform and rejuvenating the traditional markets to be included.
6.Shifting of transport agencies to the transport nagar to decongest the city and for securing safety of life and property.
7.Retrofitting of traditional market areas, educational institutions, Wholesale Fruits, Vegetables and grain market,
8.Retrofitting of electricity lines and laying underground the 11 kv power line in the retrofitting area and switching over to the LED lighting system for reducing losses,
9.Vigorously resorting to ground water recharge and solar power harnessing to meet the demands,
10.Developing export processing centre for handicraft and horticulture produce creating new job opportunities for the Stand-up India
11.Developing existing bus stand on Dehradun-Ambala road for multilevel parking and wholesale cloth market with incubation centre for the Stand-ups India,
12.New Wholesale cloth market with other Associated job opportunities for the Stand-ups India in e-marketing/business,
13.Housing for the poor on the road leading to slaughter house and relocating the slaughter house outside the project area,
14.Construction of underpasses/over passes and extension of the bridge on the Dhamola river for smooth flow of traffic,
15.Rejuvenation of Paondhoi Nadi,
16.Pan City proposal of CCTV Cameras linked with e-governance,
17.Developing GIS based data platform for improving urban planning, and property related issues including recovery of taxes,
18.Capacity building measures proposed by the Departments/agencies tasked with urban planning, infrastructure development and managing urban affairs for effectively implementing e-governance/ digital India,
19.Signing of MoU with Municipal Corporation by all stakeholders including Government Departments for convergence of their proposals and associating themselves in the implementation of the Smart City Proposals.
20.Social harmony and developing cultural hub to promote social activities and tourism and City- walk for social harmony.

1= giving liences to toto battery rikshwa for making green transportation,the toto battery rikshwa is powerd by battery so it does no cause pollution.
2= give gps service to all toto driver to making transportation smooth and less time taking.
3= by installing solar panel to make green electricity source.and make sure that the installer could sell their produced electricity and also may borrow when nerded.
4= make more csp to making banking service smoother and less time taking.

पालीथीन पर प्रतिबन्ध लगे तथा चाय-पान की दुकाने जिनसे प्रायः शहर पूर्णतः गन्दा होता है उन्हें अपशिष्ट रखने के कंटेनर के लिए बाध्यकारी नियम बने तथा यदि उपभोक्ता अपशिष्ट वहार डालते हैं तो उसी समय या तो अपने कर्मचारी या ग्राहक से कंटेनर में डलवाएं।
