The Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC), U.T, Chandigarh has taken serious cognizance of the increasing pollution levels in the airs of the city. Pollution occurs in many forms including Air, Water, Soil & Noise pollution.

The CPCC has expressed serious concern over the contamination of the overall environment as the sources of pollution don't simply have a negative impact on the natural world, but also have a measurable effect on the health of human beings also.

If all officers of Govt sector and all employees of private sectors are directed to come their offices by Public transport or bycycles and use their private veichles for private use only, pollution may be controlled. Similarly all students and teachers must be directed to come colleges or schools by cycles or public transport. Buses may be deployed by offices, colleges and schools to carry the manpower & students. Rotational office timings will also help.

scooters, car should not be allowed at the gates of schools. Even dropping and picking of students by their parents by car or scooters should not be allowed. It will control pollution early morning ,and afternoon rush on roads. Easy and cheap bus service should be provided to the students

We could see large packed food item manufacturers use larger packs than required for packing increasing the garbage, creating standards and directives for such packaging may reduce plastic wastes.

I think the only and the biggest savior/hero is "TREE". Planting more & more trees can control this pollution not only in Chandigarh but globally. Government should fix up some stick rules to plant trees (1 person = 1 tree),not to cut trees, encourage recycle products.

We can mount little bit big Air purifier on every electric poles so that the emissions made by vehicles and other air pollution are instantly purified... solar panels will be mounted for power supply to those air purifiers

For control in pollution, i have one suggestion that all the pollution check centres will be online to one server handling by govt authority and every day if any vehicle found the pollution level exceeding the threshold then
1. Pollution centre system will automatic reject the pollution slip
2. A notice slip of one week is given to vehicle to get the vehicle checked properly and then again get the pollution certificate.
3. Govt authority will send the challan to vehicle address if not obey.
