Rajkot is participating in Smart City Proposal Round-III and is a strong candidate to become smart city. As a part of preparing the smart city proposal, Rajkot Municipal Corporation carried out exhaustive citizen consultation with different groups of citizens, students groups, Sakhi Mandals, Hawker groups, NGOs, various industrial associations, elected representatives, urban planners, partner organizations and suppliers. The draft proposal is created on the basis of exhaustive consultation with different groups of citizens on challenges facing the city and citizen aspirations, city profile and future development plan, financial and implementation feasibility to make the development and services self-sustainable and future ready with ultimate goal of turning Rajkot into smart, most livable and ionic city.
