Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has announced the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ (Self-reliant India Movement) on May 12, 2020 with a special economic & comprehensive package of Rs 20 lakh crores which was aimed towards achieving the mission. The Mission focuses on the importance of promoting local products. The mission is also expected to complement “Make in India” initiative which intends to encourage manufacturing in India including agriculture sector which have a great potential. Agriculture plays a very crucial role in Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The National Bamboo Mission (NBM), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, had floated an online contest for Logo of NBM on MyGov platform in the month of December 2019seeking citizen involvement. We are glad to announce that a total of 2033 entries were received for Logo Design from people of varied age groups and from different parts of the country.

वर्ष 2015 में अंतर्राष्‍ट्रीय मृदा वर्ष मनाया गया था। देश के हर खेत की पोषण स्थिति का मूल्‍यांकन करने के लिए इसी साल 19 फरवरी को मृदा स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य कार्ड जैसा भारत का अनोखा कार्यक्रम शुरू किया गया था। इस योजना का लक्ष्‍य देश के किसानों को हर दो साल में मृदा स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य कार्ड जारी करना है, ताकि खाद इत्‍यादि के बारे में मिट्टी पोषण कमियों को दूर किया जा सके। मिट्टी की जांच करने से खेती के खर्च में कमी आती है, क्‍योंकि जांच के बाद सही मात्रा में उर्वरक दिए जाते हैं। इस तरह उपज के बढ़ने से किसानों की आय में भी इजाफा होता है और बेहतर खेती संभव हो पाती है।

Maheshwari in childhood was very inclined to study, but at the age of 19, she was married even without completing 9th standard. She married in a joint family with a lot of responsibilities. She was involved in farming with her in laws after marriage. In an emergency, they took a loan from landlords at a high interest rate and remained indebted for a long time. In 2013, she joined Ganga Maa SHG. She was timid before joining the SHG. She attended several meetings and trainings, which expanded her horizon. She started moving outside and became capable of discussing various topics related to sustainable agriculture in different forums. She started handling the issue like education, medical expenses of her family, the input cost requirement, crop planning, among others.
