The TTE will only enter the PNR of on board waitlist passenger and central server will confirm according to position in WL. This will reduce chances of corruption in TTEs part and will also liberate vacant seats for next stations. Fortunately the suggestion has been accepted (displayed in blog) and started in select trains.
