National Level Innovation Challenge (Energy Conservation) for College Students – Survey

In order to identify the creativity and innovative quotient of college going students, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Govt. of India is planning organize a National Level competition on Project – Innovation on Energy Conservation. The main objective of this Programme would be to promote and encourage College student to come out with their innovative ideas in terms of energy efficiency and its conservation. It would, also, provide equal opportunities for leading corporates to absorb such brilliant minds in their energy-intensive units and would facilitate more cost-effective ways of energy savings. A consultation document has been prepared to enable stakeholder consultation on the key issues that need to be discussed in the final preparations of the mechanism.

In order to make it understandable to someone with limited experience or knowledge of the procedure, a detailed Methodology but with a basic understanding would be prepared under the worthy guidance of the Ministry of Power, Government of India after collating useful views and suggestions received from various stakeholders like colleges, universities, Technical Institutes function under All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) along with University Grant Commission (UGC). A detailed document is also available on Bureau’s website. This consultation document has been prepared and a few of the aspects to be decided on implementation of Innovation Challenge has been put in Q&A pattern. Response / feedbacks are solicited from all stakeholders and public at large on these issues.
