Belagavi is the oldest city in Karnataka with a rich history and culture. It is the 4th largest city in the state and the fastest growing urban center. Belagavi is also a business hub and education center of Karnataka. The city has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development for development as one of the 100 smart cities in India.

Belagavi City Corporation is preparing the Smart City Proposal with an intent to plan and provide smart solutions to urban infrastructure issues of the city and welcomes the citizens of Belagavi to post their views, opinions, thoughts and plans on smart solutions for their infrastructure needs related to water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, storm water drainage, housing, amenities related to recreational activities, sports facilities, energy efficiency, non-motorized transport, safety, electrification, open space development and management, healthcare, education, public transport, key infrastructure such as pedestrian walkways, cycle paths, roads, underpasses, over-bridges, services such as e-governance tools etc. Inputs from citizens is crucial for framing a vision for tomorrow’s Belagavi and to get shortlisted as one among the top 20 cities in the first year, in the Smart City Challenge.

Come, let’s together make Belagavi a thriving and vibrant smart city.

Make slopes instead of steps so that handicapped person can easily get into the house or building with his wheel chair

Increase Government hospitals in North, South, East, West & center so that people will easily reach the hospitals.

Separate fruit market zone, Separate vegetable market zone, Separate ration location, separate hawker place where hawkers can sell what they want. In other words make divisions so that people will find it easy to search what they want.

1)UNDER GROUND CABELING: Electricity,telephone lines etc
2)Pramoting solar energy: To increase sustainabilty&keep the belgaum city free from environmental pollutions
3)Strict rules&regulations for Rain water harvesting:for newly constructing house&buildings etc 4)Recycling of garbage&house waste instead of putting on a open land& on side of streets 5)place CCTV cameras for safety& security 6)Local government should address complaints with mobile technology&internet

10) TOURIST PLACES- existing tourist places are improved and properly services from city. A new tourist places are constructed where floatation of peoples get increased

9) HEALTH AND SAFETY- in and around city hospitals are made, ambulance service is increased, and mobile clinic is provided. All the streets CCTV are provided

8) SMART STREET - for the entire street lights auto on off system is made, and 80% of street lights current are used from solar. Removing of unwanted banners and providing of proper sign boards.

7) SMART GOVT BUILDINGS- every 4-5 Sq km area a smart Govt building should be constructed in which all the offices where the public is using for daily, weekly, monthly basis. This should contain offices like, water department, electricity department, Govt hospitals, nemmadi kendra, Belagavi one, and so on by this way a public who is staying near to 4-5 Sq km area he can use these facilities under one building.

6) SMART WATER SUPPLY- For all water connections we need to fix a meter system, by this wastage of water is controlled. In city new water treatment plant should be constructed
