Every year 27th September is celebrated as World Tourism Day. This year the theme of World Tourism Day is Tourism and Rural Development. Tourism helps rural communities hold onto their unique natural and cultural heritage, supporting conservation projects, including those safeguarding endangered species, lost traditions or flavours. Tourism has proven to be a lifeline for many rural communities. The sector is not just a leading source of employment, particularly for women and youth but it also provides opportunities for territorial cohesion and socio-economic inclusion for even the most remote regions.
Our villages and the people who live there are a true custodians and manifestation of our culture.
As we work towards more sustainable development of our country, developing related hard and soft infrastructure and promoting tourism in rural India is much required.

Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with MyGov invites you to share your views ideas on Rural India- How it can leverage tourism.

Dear sir , sanctuaries, national parks should be protected and taken care of. Rural India is amazing places of tourism. Many people who live in the cities wants to visit rural places of states of India. Many foreign people also come to explore and experience rural India and wants to spend time with district people of India. Several development happens and happened which is of no use but only destruction of nature .So which is required that should be done and unnecessary construction be avoided

But why tourism in rural sector?Wouldn’t it be creating all the more chaos and disturbance in their already pathetic life in the name of economy?Their is a huge divide between the social, cultural, economic, technological, political life of rural and urban India. Will it be apt to let tourists who are already living and used to of a unsustainable lifestyle incompatible with nature to go and distort culturally and scientifically the very foundation of India, its villages

"COLOURS"
To develop a rural area in to a picnic spot we must attract kids. So the place must be very colourful and attractive, the homes in rural areas can be painted in different colours and cartoons,so that the child can get easily attract and wants their parents to take them to the place. The place must also be painted with picture stories. It can also love to photo shooters. As a parent it must be their duty to fulfil their childs wish.If it happens economic growth is also highly possible.

The concept of rural development is quite comprehensive and extensive. G. Shah defines rural development as “the development of rural areas, often rural development has meant the extension of irrigation facilities, expansion of electricity, improvement in the techniques of cultivation, construction of school building and provision of educational facilities, health care etc.”

Rural tourism focuses on actively participating in a rural lifestyle. It can be a variant of ecotourism. Many villages can facilitate tourism because many villagers are hospitable and eager to welcome visitors. Agriculture is becoming highly mechanized and therefore, requires less manual labor.
