With regards to reducing traffic bottle necks in traffic signals 1 )make sure you remove all the encroachments within 100 meters in each direction of every signal , relocate bus stops away from the signals to reduce pile up of vehicles in junctions . 2 ) you can introduce timers with buzzers for pedasterian crossings like the ones which are in use in singapore or even bangalore has it so that we can reduce unwanted crossings after the signal is clear for vehicles to move

Chennai should remove all encroachments on the interior roads. Many of the interior roads have many encroachments which inspite of taking up with the corporation are not removed for years. I believe this is an important factor to make the city look smart and clean.

Please 1. Give a infrastructure to segregate the waste collection, segregation on the same day. (Most needed for clean smart city). 2. Complete the metro to save traffic. 3. Chennai clean up once a year with 1 lakh volenteers to give a fresh look (can get help from swachh bharat and ngo like chennai trekking club etc) . (Many overseas cities do this) 4. Clean the cooum river ,it is the nerve of the city.

To solve Traffic problem: Rebuilt the broken bridge in wide and 15 mt. height on the Adyar river to connect between Raja Annamalaipuram and Foreshore Estate. Then make Road widening from Adyar Signal over bridge to Thiruvanmiyur Signal – Thiruvanmiyur Bus Stand – Maruntheeswarar Temple – RTO Office – Kottivakkam – Palavakkam upto Kovalam by clearing encroachments, then immediately make platforms on two sides.

1. Install GPS in all local buses so that commuters can plan journey accordingly!
2. Density of crowd in local buses should be made available online so that more residents can plan and use the public transport accordingly.
3. Develop software that finds out the potholes in roads and this software should be installed in gps enabled smartphones and fitted in govt buses. This software can continuously monitor the potholes and send the data about quality of roads and it's longevity.

First removed the traffic bottleneck. Commuting in our city chennai is a nightmare. Would request the government to expedite the pending road projects so that it will ease the traffic.Encroachment must be dealt with Iron hand. Corporation can do the garbage collection during night time not in the peak office hours
