The girl child today faces inequality and gender based discriminations even before birth. The nation cannot move forward unless women are given opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to nation building.

Given this context, please share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can change the discriminatory social construct in order to celebrate the girl child. What should be our communication strategy for improving the situation and reach out to people?

Our knowledge is what we learn in schools for most of us.

Let there be an education system in which we have such basic core issues as need of not only a girl child but utmost need to have children, which in the new generation is not finding any favour and we are also heading for a society in next twenty years when the population growth will turn negative given the economic compulsions that a middle class has on raising a child.

Sir, To promote girl child birth and education, a better policy should be implemented. Like when a girl child is born, free education should be provided to her till 5 years of age. A FD should be made by government on the name of that girl child when born, which can be claimed after 18 years of age by her parents, to help her further study and securing her on monetary terms. Free scholarship can also be provided to her. This issue must be raised more on media, ads,etc to create more awareness.

We already have stringent (though old) laws prohibiting child labour. Lets implement this very strictly.

Free education for the girls with targets to the teachers in government schools would help up to some extent.

In villages,as part of NREGA, mostly some useless work is alloted,I think each gram panchyat should work according to need of village.Llike if all roads are ok then they should focus on tree plantation. But mostly in villages, every year some part of roads are used to make and they only fulfill the part so they can next year do the same. They don't consider it responsibility .It seems like as sarpanch have to spent the money that come from govt,no development thinking.

The time is ripe now to inject the R.F.I.D. device in the body of our children, to detect kidnappers fast and book to justice. Kidnapping must stop at any cost.

A girl child must be given completely free education right from the child hood to masters degree. Every institution must reserve 50% seats for women/girl child and give completely free education. Make necessary constitutional ammendments to do so.

Beti Bachao - With respect to this aspect i believe that policing has to improve. For this police structure has to be changed. Just like the Indian Army, where one regiment does not only include people from the same community, the police in a state should not consist of people from that state.

With a mixing of cultures and faiths the police will becomes a more responsible force for policing and a stronger force for threats to the nation.
