The girl child today faces inequality and gender based discriminations even before birth. The nation cannot move forward unless women are given opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to nation building.

Given this context, please share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can change the discriminatory social construct in order to celebrate the girl child. What should be our communication strategy for improving the situation and reach out to people?

There should be encouragement and incentive /facilitation to those who take responsibility to teach or take responsibility of education and its expenses of female child/girls to higher class or for one year or for college. There should be direct donation system from the persons who wants to given /assistance /donation for girl child education. Suppose I want and have capacity for one child's education expense, then there should be provision in the college/university for accepting such amount

In India A girl child is directly proportional to expenditure. U need money to raise her & to get her married.
Even i saw educated poelpe having girl child are scared of her marriage expenses. So to make people realise the potential of a girl, we all should work forward to stop dowry.
Goverment can give special benefits to people with 2 or more girl child, or try to motivate young boys not to accept any dowry.

SOME INCENTIVES TO THOSE PARENTS WHO ARE HAVING GIRL CHILD AND MORE INCENTIVE TO THOSE ARE HAVING TWO GIRL CHILD AND THEN ADOPTING FAMILY PLANNING. THEN MORE INCENTIVE TO THOSE WHO ARE EDUCATING THEIR GIRL CHILD.
THOSE PARENTS WHO WANT TO GIVE HIGHER EDUCATION TO THEIR GIRL CHILD, SHOULD BE GIVEN CONCESSION ATLEAST IN THEIR EDUCATION EXPENSE, REBATE IN TAXES IT WILL BOOST EDUCATION AND FEMALE CHILD RATIO AND WILL GIVE ENCOURAGE TO SUCH FAMILY.

Continuing with my earlier post, the level of training imparted can start from basic for girls upto 10 and followed by advanced self-defence training including martial arts upto the age of 18-20. Mock sessions where one women has to take on one ore more attackers should be done. Schools and colleges should be forced to do this with the help of ex servicemen and even servicemen serving currently. In fact I would like to see more women joining the armed forces and make our nation truly strong one.

These days we see violence against women on the rise. And in this even small girls under the age of 5 are getting brutally exploited. I feel military and self-defence training should be made compulsory in every standard especially for girls. They should be made phsically strong and capable of defending themselves. That is not to say that government should not protect them, but I am a strong believer that every individual should be made mentally and physically strong and more so women.

WOMEN THEN MEN, NO WOMEN THEN NO MEN.
There should be a programme in RAKSHA BANDHAN, MOTHERS DAY, NAVRATRI on a public platform to communicate regarding the girl child & promote the best message through these programmes.
