Retired civil servants and well educated housewives can be really good teachers. The government can hire them in central schools basis their qualification and assessment, subject to physical fitness. Such people can also form a corpus of trainers who can then teach the teachers on basics of topics. Good teachers can be graded and they must have faster avenues of growth. For that a growth framework should be devised and it should not be limited to become administrator as best teachers may not be.

Teachers should be exposed to closest industry experts who tell them which skills they are looking for in students. At the same time they should be shown or if possible given talks by eminent people in the field like Sir Ken Robinson who talk about how to develop and nurture and at least not kill the curiosity and innovation in children.

Teachers should be trained for fifteen days every year during summers, where they are trained online as well as by expert teachers on methods of teaching and their relevant technical skills. This training should be made mandatory for government schools and optional for private schools. For private school teachers they should take a test to become eligible for such training at the end of which a training and assessment certificate should be given to teachers.

There should be a voluntary online assessment of teachers technical skills. The year test taken and marks should be updated on a government website. Teachers should write which college/ school they are teaching in which grade. School/college should not be more than one while grade should not be more than 3. School-wise teacher list should be updated on the website. This can then be advertised by good schools for parents to make a more informed choice.

There is a need to revamp completely as far as the teacher as a profession in our country. It is the teachers who plays a crucial role in Nation Building. Govt. should make this profession so lucrative that persons with good academic career should prefer to become teacher. Whereas the present scenario is when a person does not succeed in getting a better job, he becomes teacher. When the knowledge of teacher is substandard, how can we expect better outcome. So make teachers job most lucrative.

Teachers also needs to to be updated from time to time. though the teachers are the mentor but after some time the theacher should also be treated as mentee so the he can updated.

There is need of a centralized and state level institute which can nurture the teacher from time to time by providing research opportunities. Seminar and various kind of case studies can be done to improvise the system . Annually or Mid term teacher feedback can be collected from student and Analysis can be done and on that basis Ranking should be issued so that there is a kind of competitive environment . Even teacher has to be appear a test on yearly basis so that quality can be maintained .
