Universities in Kerala directly conducting self financing colleges and teachers appointed on one year contract basis and they got only consolidated wage 15000 or less without any service benefits like EPF esi or pension they do the same work as in aided sector teachers who got 45000 with all benefits.and so the former teachers have no commitment on students .They only do teaching jon.Its a crucial matter and ban such contract teachers in such colleges to improve the quality.

While there is a well laid out programme for training of teachers at school level, no such programme exists for college teachers . For technical education, we have technical teachers training institutes but they have confined themselves to polytechnic education. Their scope should be enhanced to include engineering colleges. Training in pedagogical skills should be imparted to all college teacher before they actually start taking classes.
