Dear Citizens of Meerut, ...

Dear Citizens of Meerut,

As you are aware Meerut is participating in Smart city challenge Round III and is a strong contender. In all three rounds of Smart City Proposal preparation, Meerut Municipal Corporation has conducted extensive citizen engagement for (i) Understanding issues and aspirations of the citizens (ii) To decide vision goals and strategic direction for the city, (iii) To finalize Pan City and ABD initiatives. Post citizen engagement the city has identified “Vision & Goals” and “ABD & Pan City initiatives”.

The final draft proposal prepared for Meerut is placed in the public domain for citizen’s inputs. For a better understanding, a presentation of the Smart City Proposal explaining the vision, pan-city proposal and area based development has been shared at the link given below. Please provide your suggestions and feedback.

where Labor laws are flexible enough to encourage low-cost bulk manufacturing of APIs. We are not only lagging behind China in APIs production, but also in raw material production, which is used for APIs production. In China, APIs are produced in cottage industries, without any pollution control, Regulatory norms, being complied with. We need to revolutionize & overhaul our system, & adopt an aggressive manufacturing/ marketing approach to counter China's low-cost Products.

1.Yesterday, Shri Prabhat Jha jee rightly asked about our over dependence on China for APIs imports, in Rajya Sabha. Since I have been directly associated with API R&D & production, & follow the industry closely, I can say that we need to drastically amend our Regulatory & Drug licensing & approval mechanisms, in order to catch up with China. Our labour laws, are also an impediment, in the way. SEZ-type aggressive production/manufacturing facilities are required in large numbers....

Vande Mataram Modi jee, MNREGA payments, may also be used for loan repayments. Farmers may be alloted work in MNREGA, & their wages may be used to pay back loans. Farmers may be asked to pay for tailor-made, subsidized affordable housing schemes, run by GOI, to suit the needs. These small tailor-made, welfare schemes will ease the one-time burden on state exchequer.

V. Mataram Modi jee, Farm loan may be converted into free facilities, like crop insurance, farmers' family insurance, free education/ health facilities for farmers' families, for a calculated period of time, instead of a direct/ one-time waiver of the loan amounts. The loan amounts may be adjusted against payment of premium amounts, in installments, paid by Govt. The farmers may pay back the said amounts in easy, flexible, installments, conveniently.
