How to encourage households to adopt various energy-efficient habits?
People don't want to feel awkward before any children. So if we replace any enforcers with children it will have large impacts than a adult trained person having the position.
Energy saving including natural resources should be treated as a daily habit. Just as we are concerned of health and hygiene. We should educate children's first as they are more adaptive to changes. They are inquisitive all the way. If they educated and trained through schools, local organization s. They will start practising on their own and spread it through society. If they started asking their parents, kins, neighbour about their bad habits, it sure will work.
There is need to create awareness in people about saving fuel on traffic signals through advertisement, like swatch bharat. Many people keep the vehicle on even signal is for 100 seconds, many who switch off unnecessarily starts at 20seconds. Every signal should be equipped with timimg display. This way, we can save huge fuel, money and can avoid pollution.
First of all replace all the street lights across the country with LED's instead of using mercury lights which consume too much of power...small solar panel can also be used in the street lamps as LED's consume less power.
Also if we can provide some kind of tax rebate on amount spent for buying Solar Panels, We can substantially reduce corporate dependency on Electricity Supply Companies and also Huge Electricity Thefts. It would also encourage Tax payers to invest in Solar Panels.
Use of LED bulbs is a very nice idea. But along with that Solar Panels (Small/Medium) Should be subsidized as majority of our countrymen is lower/Middle classed and they also consume electricity but they can't afford to buy Costly Solar Panels, If we can make Solar Panels cheaper and provide Cheap LED lights, It would help to stop Electricity theft and dependency on Electricity supply companies. Also we can encourage use of Community Solar Panels in Multistory Residential Complexes.
Make in India
1 increase production of LED
2 TAX examtions for production of LED 2 TO 5 YRARS
3 increase the demand of LED by educating people
4 Incrase use of LED IN GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE companies
5 let us start a LED using movement, so every India can try to participate in using LED
6 ENERGY WHICH IS SAVED FROM LED USEAGE CAN BE USED FOR DEVELOPING INDIA
India set to become water scarce country by 2025 was mentioned in a report and the importance of water conservation was emphasized in today's Mann Ki Baat. An innovative solution for saving water and energy in the toilet is available in the link http://www.zdnet.com/article/the-toilet-re-imagined-four-water-saving-designs where the sink uses fresh water but that water is then stored in the tank as grey water e.g. Caroma's Profile Smart 305, Roca's W+W, WaterSaver Technologies' AQUS
