Energy conservation should be part of the curicullum of the School children. Not only that the NGO's are to be encouraged to reach out to rural areas and slums in cities to make the population understand the importance of energy conservation. Media can also play a role by advertising. The message has to go to every nook and corner on how to save energy. Then only we will see a significant savings. The electrical distribution companies should be penalised for losses too.

the best part that u can do is to inspire and motivate the school going children to save energy as they are the future and the silent observer in household yet most active,so if the root is safe we can except the buds to sprout out in near spring.

India is gifted with maximum resources including, man power. One thing always strikes my mind, we learnt in our school that any mechanical energy can be converted to electrical energy, now we are generating same from wind, why not with sea tide ? 3/4 of Indian border is covered with sea, imagine how simple it is and enormous in quantity, if could be made a pilot project and implemented.

India can become a better country to live IF...WE... 1. We Want Indian cities, towns and villages free From STRAY DOGS, CATTLE, PIGS etc 2. We want every Indian tO Plant atleast 1 tree to reduce Global Warming. 3. Community Transport must be more competant, cheap and good (as in Europe) than Individual Transport (cars, motorbikes etc.) to reduce burning of Fossil Fuels and again bring down Global Warming.

In order to save electricity, the night hours of market may be restricted & also the shopowners advised not to use/utilise extra lighting arrangement just to attract customer. Further, taking leave of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), ONE hour light off on FULLMOON/Poornina may be advised/encouraged to follow, which will be helpful in saving electricity.
