We can create household bands based on factors like, house locality, sqft, how few people live, how much combined income etc. to charge a higher tarrif for previliged people. E.g. People who live in Juhu are earning enough not to bother about power wastage. They should be charged at a high premium. While poor people struggle to pay normal power usage. Also industrial rates should have bands. Malls should be charged higher than manufacturing plants. This is just a suggestion which can be evolved.

We should make it a habit to take bath with mug and bucket instead of under the running shower. This will save about 75% of water.

energy efficient habits should be taught in primary and secondary schools, only then their parents will be forced to adopt it and prevent energy wastages. television should stop at 10 AM so that people are able to revert to their old (and gold) habits of 'rise before sunrise' and improve their health and also are forced to sleep by 8-9 pm daily thereby saving electricity wastage in homes.

LPG - subsidy, these companies HPCL, BPCL give a choice to every individual about the subsidy, if they really want to avail. They should tag such customer such as " NO SUBSIDY - FLAT, if all the flat owners of building do not avail subsidy then put up a board " NO SUBSIDY AVAILING BUILDING" This will encourage all the others who can afford market rate cylinder to get this tag/board in the society. Biggest benefit would be a less burdon on government....
