How can we bring an end to the menace of manual scavenging?
In the 125th anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar,Government can launch scheme to provide power to needy sections of the society. The scheme is to use the agriculture waste, kitchen waste as well the solid waste out of toilets etc.of villages and urban areas to generate bio gas and provide lights in community areas like gardens, study rooms for the needy. This will be a befitting tribute in 125th anniversary to the great leader who once studied under street lights. This will end manual scavanging
My disappointment today my bad indecent I am resident of Sector 19 Noida & one of the resident of sector 19 park the his car in front of my neighbor house & on today morning while he is taking out the car he starting smoking and through the cigarette empty box outside the car & fortunately I came out from my house and I notice his activity & very decently I ask him to do not throw garbage like this and please keep this cigarette box and through in the any garbage box But this guy start scrimmage
In the west, we have these street cleaning machines which can clean the streets like a super sopper. We can have manufacture such machines in India, thereby increasing our employment and also deploy designated people for particular streets who will clean those streets on a daily basis
We need to ensure that there is a dustbin at every 100 m in metros and every few KMs in rural areas. Also in Metros, we need to ensure that the manual scavenging is reformed. We need to give those manual scavengers a uniform, health care benefits, education to their children and a decent salary. Also proper trash picking trucks needs to deployed, which can pick up all the dirt on a twice/thrice a day routine. People who take my rubbish cant even get a school but they do a job that i wouldnt do
We need to mechanise the cleaning activities be it lifting of garbage or clearing blocked underground drainage pipe. The facilities have to be made available not only in cities but also in rural areas. Also we need to have systems in place to collect garbage not only from individual house hold but also from pubilc places and public transport vehicles such as trains and buses. Except in airlines we don't see such system of collection in place. People are throwing the waste through windows!
We can end the manual scavenging to improve the self employment.
TOI art. dt 29th Apr - ASI checks monuments. See concern of our rulers for history. They will act on present only after that becomes history. Till then all residents living in modified damaged buildings may happily live praising our rulers who will continue their disastrous management. Jai Hind
TOI 27th Apr - Modified DDA flats may not survive quake. Govt. helpless. myGov will introduce 100+ missions & accomplish all (great) butsimply cannot prohibit illegal/unauthorised constructions - why only constrn; any illegal activity. myGovt will shamelessly say illegal modifn of DDA flats even over sewerage line is not illegal. Just watch blow ups of our rulers in media and listen to manki bath. Jai Hind
People should first make their house clean, and then colony. By way of such small particioation from everybody, local area may be kept cleaned. Also, the school should a period for cleaning education, and children must have taught the importance of cleanness.
