“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

Practically for the advertisement, publicity, show richness and something like that....many malls and some other bulk consumers of electricity in the country uses a lots of bulbs, ACs, etc. and they consume lots of energy..and in other hand for villages in the country we run a load shading for hours and hours. If government keep some strong rules e.g. only XX amount of electricity uses per month then country can save lots of energy and resources

well no matter how much we try we cant save these resources because they are limited and no matter what they have to end one day, we should just use these to find a new home a new place full of resources, we have always seen movies in which alians attacks our planet in need of resources, maybe its time we attack other planets before we run out of resources and become helpless

In cities, lot of fuel is wasted at signals during idle running of vehicles. During peak hours, red light will continue up to 3 min. Cumulative fuel consumption of vehicles waiting for signal is very high and its absolutely waste. So vehicles can be fitted with timers which will switch of engines after few seconds of idle run. This can be made mandatory to all vehicles.

In metropolitan cities like Bangalore, there is heavy traffic at all places where people spend hours together in traffic jam. The common man using public transport also suffering for the luxury of people using cars. Hence car travel should be allowed only when minimum 3 passengers are there.Exemptions may be given in specific cases.also car loans should be restricted.
