“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

One area where we must focus immediately is solar energy, silicon cells should be available as easily as any grocery item once it's available it will be easier for ppl to innovate & moreover prices of solar products will come down drastically hence ppl cud b encouraged to use solar products as much as thy can. Street lights in rural & urban areas be made solar, all schools & colleges cud b encouraged to go solar, hotels can b given incentives to reduce carbon footprints.

Solar energy should be mandatory in every organization. and for domestic use Govt. can provide a subsidy. We need to work on recycling more and need to treat waste as a valuable source of energy. Wind Energy and Rain water harvesting should be promoted. Lights use in Shops and malls consume too much energy, there should be a limit on that. LED's need to be promoted as they consume less energy. Also, Govt. Should encourage Indians to create innovative products which can be a big benefit.

Most of Temples are using Subsidized electricity,Encourage them to set up Solar Panels about their Ceiling. Encourage Hilltop Temples to set up Micro Wind mills. Thru this, we can save the Load on Conventional Energy source.

As made in India is coming in our country lot of factories will be placed if will lead to loss of energy so to save some energy solar panels must be compulsory on the whole roofs of factories for their own use
