Employability of our students is a matter of concern. At the other end of the spectrum is need for greater investment in research. Industry academia linkages are essential to meet both these ends. While we have various efforts in this direction, these have not fructified as expected. We need to find out how and what is needed for a more fruitful partnering.

There are many students who learn Mechanical Engg, Civil Engg, Chemical Engg etc. and seek jobs in IT/Computer Science. All the knowledge they acquired in Engineering is wasted. Let there be no restriction on number of seats in Computer Engg/IT, so that those who want to go to IT, study that subject.

Sir, according to me we have to introduce Engineering & NCC as compulsory subject from class 5th onward for making them physically and technically strong, but we have to remember that the growth of our nation is only possible if we produce expert in each or every fields. we have to remember history of Greece (Ancient Athens and Sparta)before making any policies

Government should made this rule compulsory that different industries in states have to provide summer training to students from different sectors. It can develop new skills in students as well as industries can hire them for jobs in future. For example during month for JAN-FEB every year they should start this internship process. So,during the summer holidays interested students can gain some extra knowledge. Its need of a website for employment and internship related process.Govt. should make it.

Each industry which can spend at least 10 percent of its compulsory CSR spending should engage in enhancing and training students in its vocation

Linking education to employability. 40% is dependent on the availability of opportunities. And 60% depends on the individual student, on how well he understands his subject. Talking of the first 40%, consider a subject: DEFENCE AND STRATEGIC STUDIES. The subject is available as an option in MP-PCS, UP-PCS etc. But, what about UPSC-Civil Services Examination? THE SUBJECT CANNOT BE OPTED FOR THE MAINS EXAM! FIRSTLY, WE NEED THOROUGH SCANNING, only then we can talk of employability.

We need to teach the students about our culture, heatlh care, science, finance and maths at a very young age. This will enable them to become an all round individual when they graduate. Also we need to establish foreign universities to come and teach students at various universities as a part of their development

There are a number of skill gaps in industry that are not being bridged. Many are simple skills eg truck drivers. Private players are willing to set up training schools if land and building are provided by govt. Partnering with major oems to set up driving schools in every district will create employability in large scale

Please study Aashirwad Yojana by NTTF and some corporates in Uttarkhand. It is a brilliant example of 'earn while you learn' scheme, where children passing 12th standard from remote areas of Uttarkhand are taken into industry shopfloors and trained in weekends while they work weekdays. After 4 years they get diploma and are employed as engineers. They are trained in skills directly relevant to industry and not just theory.
