How can it be ensured that not only does the arrival of tourists increase but also the Ganga remains clean?
Ganga is self sufficient. We just have to change our mindset towards natural resources as we are only exploiting the natural resources in the backdrop of development and rituals.
Respected Sir,
Why don't India undertake a project to link all the rivers in India from the north to south. This can solve all the water shortage for our farmers as well as create a prefect water transport system inside India with great attraction to foreign tourism (with house boats)
Ganga is a perennial river, so it will clean itself if we stop dumping and fishing. Ministry of Water resources need to recruit Water Policemen (include some local fishermen) instead of spending huge amounts on chemicals. Government needs to come up with a policy for dumping garbage and chemicals. Create awareness through schools near any river bodies on the importance of river water. This will Save the Gharials and Dolphins, hence attracting Tourists letting locals(e.g. fisherman) make money.
Clean Ganga
In India believe RELIGIOUS
For people act many think related Ganga
So for clean Ganga
It's idea should be related believe in God type
Try to awareness about having impure water having many health problems
Public not try any think
And government also take quick discussion for who try to impure water of Ganga
1) To reduce pollution due to industries, stricter laws must be in place. Any organization that releases effluents must be fined heavily and repeat offenders must be prosecuted.
2) Littering in rivers must be strictly prohibited. There should be sufficient dustbins and toilets in tourist spots which should be maintained regularly. Bathing in rivers should not be allowed except certain places. Temple bathing ghats should be maintained by temple authorities, failing which they may be fined.
I am not interested in promoting tourism but I want endangered pink dolphins to be rescued. They only live in pure n distilled water and ganga is completely polluted. Please save innocent dolphins.I dont even know how many of them are left :(:(
Flowing of industrial/chemical waste into GANGA, should be stopped immediately. Strict monitoring is required for wastage which is flowing into it from the sewage treatment plants. Doing this shall save Government revenue and the river shall be cleaned to the most extent by itself i.e. the natural process. This procedure may also be adopted for other rivers in the country.

I want to stress the need of joining of local people in keeping Ganga clean. If we can arrange a system where volunteers are able to register themselves for their services in this initiative than it can change the mindset of the local public that it is a government responsibility. A system where anybody can contribute according to her/his capacity, whether it is a financial or physical help. If people are sure that their contribution will really make a difference, they can surprise the world.
