Another important task is sensitizing the citizens. The mantra followed should be Sensitization -> Penalization. Run campaigns trying to make people understand the importance of keeping the Ganga (rivers in general) clean. Let the campaigns run for maybe an year. Penalize the wrong-doers thereafter.

Since, the actual root cause is mainly industrial pollution, what needs to be done more than taking up the cleaning project is a stricter Pollution Control Board in context with Industries. Hardly any industry in India treats the waste water well before discharging it into Ganga or one of its tributaries. A stronger CPCB( or State PCB) can assure that the waste is discharged only after proper treatment.

A lesson can be learned from people and saints of Hrishikesh. Who have been successful to keep the holy river clean in their area by not throwing "puja materials" in the river and also by not allowing any form of remains to be thrown in the holy river. It is only by collective participation of the people associated directly with the cause this High Profile Mission can be achieved. It is through these efforts that hrishikesh is the only place in India where Ganges water is fit enough to drink .

Ganga is polluted where tourist reach the ganga, that is roadside or near temples in Kashi, Varnasi etc. making awareness in the public of Tourist hotspots about the garbage proper disposal to dustbin. After Ganga passed a tourist spot n polluted Cleaning Machines should be working there. This ensures Pollution is cleaned on spot. The Polluted Waste should be dumped far from a river on a waste land, which doesn't hurt environment. This can be Initiative step on Cleaning Holy Mother Ganga. One other idea is, we shoul find some system which recycle garbage and that may be plant in the home. through which we can recycle all the garbage in our home and our rivers will be clean.

1. I have a skim for four wheeler that should have plan to put dustbin in the four wheeler. because of this, those people who throwing garbage on water or rode through there vehicle they will stop to do this.
2. And the other thing is to put dustbin on the rode or on all Crossings, due to which people will not throw there garbage any where and that garbage will not mix in water and River will be clean.

1. Nominal fee for carrying out religious activities at the riverfront (ghats) for maintenance
2. Sewage canal running "parallel" to Ganga all the way till Bay of Bengal
3. Collect Entrance and exit toll fee at tourist spots (Example: In Goa, while entring from Karwar, Karnataka towards Canacona, Goa, there's a toll of Rs250 for LMV, Rs500 for LCV, Rs1000 for commercial vehicles).
4. Charge fine for littering in tourist spots.
5. Sanitation (street vendors have trash cans) and waste mgmt.

We must assign volunteer at each Ghats and there should be display board on each ghat,The display board must mention health of the river and the target to achieve. The target should be on quarterly basis. If the target would be achieved, then government should offer a permanent package for volunteers. And of course the volunteers must be local to the Ghat. And sewage, industrial effluents must be treated before their release into the river. Then after everybody will come to see the clean Ganga.

most of the country is having so many rivers, but the thing is that, the all are clean.,but if you see in our country this is totally opposite,we have to take the initiative in such a way that the public will going to involve in it..we can minimize it by creating awareness programs to the people.,most of the wastage go in it through factories and we have to strictly banned it,making a team for taking care of it by dividing zones in particular area..,then it going to work.
