I am the Postmaster at Peermade Post Office in Idukki District, Keralam. An incident occurred during the sale of the national flag from the post office as part of the har ghar tiranga. My chief asked me that there were 100 flags left on the last date of last year's sale. I was on leave. I contacted the head master of the school I attended in my childhood. To inculcate nationalism among the children, efforts were made to bring the national flag to the homes of the students of the school thereby I had sold out the same.

On August 15th, as we celebrate our nation's independence, patriotism resonates through the stories of courage, sacrifice, and unity that have shaped our history. This day is not just a reminder of our freedom, but a celebration of the countless experiences that bind us as a nation. From the bravery of our freedom fighters to the everyday acts of kindness and service that keep our communities strong, these stories remind us of what it truly means to be free. On this day, we honor the spirit of patriotism by reflecting on the past, embracing the present, and looking forward to a future where our shared values continue to guide us.
A personal experience of patriotism I recall is when my community came together after a severe storm caused widespread flooding. Despite the devastation, people from all backgrounds united to help clean up, provide supplies, and support those affected. This collective effort demonstrated the true spirit of patriotism, showing that it's not just about grand gestures, but also about everyday acts of kindness, unity, and commitment to one another. It deepened my connection to my community and reminded me that the strength of a nation lies in its people working together for the common good.
Patriotism comes alive in the stories we share and the experiences we cherish. It's in the small acts of kindness within our communities, the sacrifices of those who protect our freedoms, and the moments that make us proud to call our country home. By telling these stories, we keep the spirit of our nation vibrant, honoring our past while inspiring future generations to uphold the values that define us.
Pride to be the part of Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign

Thanking you,
Independence Day celebrations also remind me of my childhood days. We could not contain our excitement of participating in the Independence Day celebrations in our village school. When the tricolour was hoisted, we felt an electrifying energy pass through us. With our hearts full of patriotic pride, we saluted the national flag and sang the national anthem. Sweets were distributed and patriotic songs were sung, which kept playing in our minds for many days. I was fortunate in having an opportunity to re-live these experiences when I became a school teacher.
When we grow up, we may not remain as expressive of our joy as children are, but I am sure that the intensity of the patriotic feeling associated with the celebration of national festivals is not diminished at all. Independence Day reminds us that we are not merely individuals, but we are part of a great community of people. It happens to be the biggest and the greatest community of its kind. It is the community of the citizens of
