Roughly 1% of GDP is spent on higher education as against a target of 1.5%. In the recent years, the state share of expenditure on education has declined as compared to an increase in Central expenditure on education. How can we address the financial resource constraints in higher education?

In case someone wants to go abroad for Masters/P.HD course.then he/she must return after completion of course & must serve the country for min 10 years before he/she can opt for a job in foreign country.Educated people are resources of country and must serve country first.

Government spends lakhs of rupees on the education of Engineers, Doctors, MBAs at IITs/ RECs/ Medical colleges/IIM in the country. But these very people go abroad for a job. This is a criminal wastage of government money & resources. My suggestion is :
1. It must be made a rule & agreement be signed by student with government that any Engineer/Doctor/MBA ( educated at either private or govt college) must serve in the country for min 7 years before he can go for a job abroad.

Its very surprising that in a country which is known for its Knowledge throughout the world has the interest rate of Education Loan much higher than Housing Loan.Education is the basic requirement and necessity for any individual. So, i would request the Prime Minister, Finance Minister & Education Minister to look into this and make Education Loan Interest lower than Housing Loan with immediate effect so that maximum children per sue higher studies.

Education must be nade privatised or govt.undertaken, with an attitude to enroll students in the system,as employees and employers too. The role of our govt. must be to frame a system, which learns to train and utilise the resources it has. Attitude towards research must be implemented at college levels. All AICTE approved colleges must be channelised under a Univertstiy and student Interventions based on research must be made an aspect than just a scoring curriculum. The implementation Lacks.

FOR ANY COUNTRY, STATUS OF HIGHER EDUCATIONS IS MEASERED BY THE RESEARCH ABILITY POWER OF THE COUNTRY.I THINK TODAY THE POSITION OF INDIA IN RESEARCH FIELD IS VERY UNSATISFACTORY WITH RESPECT TO USA CHINA ETC LIKE DEVELOPED COUNTRIES.I THINK GOVT. SHOULD INCREASE THE NO OF FELLOWSHIPS FOR RESEARCH AND PUT SPECIAL EFFORT SO THAT ATLEAST 25% OF THE RESEARCH MUST BE OF GOOD QUALITY.

We should make people understand the value of subsidies, the subsidies should be converted to loan and one has to pay it before one buy luxury goods, e.g a car above five lakhs, house more than 20 lakhs, Let people pay before they start enjoying life.

Across the country SEZ are being established to attract industry, The corporates who establish units in this SEZ are given land at nominal cost/free of cost, subsidized power, water charges and the like. These corporates make huge profit margins. It would be worth for the government to think about creating an Education fund wherein a percentage of the profit gained is deposited which is then utilized for funding the education sector in that state.
