The digital space has witnessed major transformations in the last couple of years and as per industry experts would continue to evolve itself. The latest entrant to the digital space is the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT can also be defined as interplay for software, telecom and electronic hardware industry and promises to offer tremendous opportunities for many industries.

With the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT), the number of connected sensors soon will reach trillions, working with billions of intelligent systems involving in-numerous applications will drive new consumer and business behaviour. The demand for increasingly intelligent industry solutions based on IoT will drive trillions of dollars in opportunity for IT industry and even more for the companies that take advantage of the IoT.

One of the top most initiatives in the form of Digital India Program of the Government which aims at ‘transforming India into digital empowered society and knowledge economy’, is expected to provide the required impetus for development of the IoT industry ecosystem in the country.

Department of Electronics and Information Technology,(DeiTY) has come out with a draft IOT Policy document which focuses on following objectives:

i. To create an IoT industry in India of USD 15 billion by 2020. It has been assumed that India would have a share of 5-6% of global IoT industry.

ii. To undertake capacity development (Human & Technology) for IoT specific skill-sets for domestic and international markets.

iii. To undertake Research & development for all the assisting technologies.

iv. To develop IoT products specific to Indian needs in all possible domains.

The Policy framework of the IoT Policy has been proposed to be implemented via a multi-pillar approach. The approach comprises of five vertical pillars (Demonstration Centres, Capacity Building & Incubation, R&D and Innovation, Incentives and Engagements, Human Resource Development) and 2 horizontal supports (Standards & Governance structure).

Modi Ji I am living in Noida since past 2 years. The traffic rules, traffic police and the locals are horrible, terrific and uncivilized. Signal jumping, wrong side driving, rash driving, excessive honking in traffic signal, road encroachment, these are all problems. You can't say a word to the Gujjars, either you'll be beaten up or shot from a desi katta. Please I request you to formulate laws that better govern and ensure peoples security. You can send some of your officials randomly for check

There should be a national portal implemented with the single sign-on for the citizen to access all government services with one single user and password, e.g. income tax, pension, Insurance policy, provident fund etc. Also, the same can be linked with the digital locker and the idea shared in my one of the comments, of national email address for each citizen. There should be also a provision to access the same through authorized channel for the citizen who are illiterate in accessing this.

IOT is a basic & major building block toward Digital India, which can be achieved by implementation of embedded systems in design of basic home appliances. Today in our country embedded system development is limited to just another subject in electronics engineering, we should encourage individual technocrats & entrepreneurs already working in this field.

In line with the vision of digital India, the digital locker will be created for each citizen likewise each citizen should have one national email address where any notification from government authority should be sent in spite of sending the hard copy of the same as an optional way of notification. This mailbox should be accessible with Aadhaar Number + OTP + Two factor authentication and also allows defining the beneficiary who can access the mailbox in death of the citizen.

Me & my friends surveyed in 2003 at Railway stations, Surat & Bharuch (Gujarat), we justified, approx 65~75 thousands employees were working as cross city employees, means Surati people was doing Up Down for Bharuch & vice-versa, means 1.5L people were wasting their money, time & energy behind Up Down. My suggestion is, Can't our government pass such a policy or regulation, so millions of public can avoid such waste? This was example between two cities, figure can cross to millions of manpower.
