The digital space has witnessed major transformations in the last couple of years and as per industry experts would continue to evolve itself. The latest entrant to the digital space is the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT can also be defined as interplay for software, telecom and electronic hardware industry and promises to offer tremendous opportunities for many industries.

With the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT), the number of connected sensors soon will reach trillions, working with billions of intelligent systems involving in-numerous applications will drive new consumer and business behaviour. The demand for increasingly intelligent industry solutions based on IoT will drive trillions of dollars in opportunity for IT industry and even more for the companies that take advantage of the IoT.

One of the top most initiatives in the form of Digital India Program of the Government which aims at ‘transforming India into digital empowered society and knowledge economy’, is expected to provide the required impetus for development of the IoT industry ecosystem in the country.

Department of Electronics and Information Technology,(DeiTY) has come out with a draft IOT Policy document which focuses on following objectives:

i. To create an IoT industry in India of USD 15 billion by 2020. It has been assumed that India would have a share of 5-6% of global IoT industry.

ii. To undertake capacity development (Human & Technology) for IoT specific skill-sets for domestic and international markets.

iii. To undertake Research & development for all the assisting technologies.

iv. To develop IoT products specific to Indian needs in all possible domains.

The Policy framework of the IoT Policy has been proposed to be implemented via a multi-pillar approach. The approach comprises of five vertical pillars (Demonstration Centres, Capacity Building & Incubation, R&D and Innovation, Incentives and Engagements, Human Resource Development) and 2 horizontal supports (Standards & Governance structure).

I have a serious Matter to convey! This is about the risk of allowing Citizens to use facebook kind of social media applications to general public. India being a thickly populated country , it will only take a moment for people to spread any news harming the harmoney of the democrazy.

Government should thing fast and act fast. If you check all revolts happened in other nations, there is a third party application support. Why cant India govt plan and maintain a ditto Bharathbook?

GOI programme of digital services is the right step. But I am repeating my concern that ALL TELECOMS FAIL to provide HIGH SPEED INTERNET. Today every Too much prodictive time of a person is wasted due to disrupted Internet service. GOI needs to urgently address this issue, to achieve its dream of DIGITAL INDIA. Strict clauses & punitive action has to be made in the agreements with TELECOM OPERATORS. Only then citizens will get better services.

Sir , our India is a democratic one ,and largest democracy in the world , but i think so that to contest the elections lot of money spent over it , so for that political leaders save their money in shape of black money in the bank out of the world . Election commission of India should / govt. form new law about to save money and time , political rallies be restrained strictly and door to door voters meetings and un -necessary wrong mainfasto also be banned

The internet in India needs a thorough overhaul. I am having more than 14 years in Telecom Industry and have worked across the globe. My view in bullet points below -

1. Lay down policy & measurement for a min assured bandwidth for consumers at all data plans
2. Lay down policy and measurement for all service providers for contention ratio, so that we can avoid current situation
3. Simplify taxation rules and reward ISP for better measured quality of service to its consumers
