The digital space has witnessed major transformations in the last couple of years and as per industry experts would continue to evolve itself. The latest entrant to the digital space is the Internet of Things (IoT). With the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT), the number of connected sensors soon will reach trillions, working with billions of intelligent systems involving in-numerous applications will drive new consumer and business behaviour. The demand for increasingly intelligent industry solutions based on IoT will drive trillions of dollars in opportunity for IT industry and even more for the companies that take advantage of the IoT.

Department of Electronics and Information Technology,(DeiTY) has come out with a draft IOT Policy document which focuses on following objectives:

i. To create an IoT industry in India of USD 15 billion by 2020. It has been assumed that India would have a share of 5-6% of global IoT industry.

ii. To undertake capacity development (Human & Technology) for IoT specific skill-sets for domestic and international markets.

The Policy framework of the IoT Policy has been proposed to be implemented via a multi-pillar approach. The approach comprises of five vertical pillars (Demonstration Centres, Capacity Building & Incubation, R&D and Innovation, Incentives and Engagements, Human Resource Development) and 2 horizontal supports (Standards & Governance structure).

Internet speed is tht biggest problem. Neither wired nor wireless access is sufficient to do the job. Paid high speed wifi service may be provided in all cities so that work can be done online properly. Optical fibre service is not available every where. Copper wire network is old and does not support speeds. Now a days all devices are wifi equipped. In place of providing wifi hotspots a mobile like wifi network may be established where direct wifi account based connectivity is possible.

Govt. should provide 1GB free internet data to each family in the country and servcie tax should be reduced on buying through Debit card on Internet, which will enhance trading activities through internet.there by every transaction will be go through bank(white) and govt. will get more sales tax(revenue).Jan Dhan Yojana will start to deliver and will provide more funds to the govt. to invest in nation building.

Service tax hike from 12.36 % to 14 % is not a good step. It will discourage people to use Internet,We already don't have much people that use Internet.Loss in revenue because of not increasing(rather)decreasing service tax will be compensated by attracting more consumers hence increasing volume of service.Hope government will look into this suggestion.
