A large number of tribal people and other forest dwellers derive their source of livelihood from the collection and marketing of Minor Forest Produce (MFP) which provides them ...
our forest are full of resources and tribal people are expert on these products they just need a market which in this digital world could be provided by online selling of their products by e-commerce company, they should be motivated to do sale of these products on their sites with proper advertisement and government should take their advertisement expense as their c.s.r
Our Forest are full of plants having Ayurvedic importance. Bark, root, leaf, flower, seed, fruit, branches of herbal plants are useful in medicine. Moreover, honey is an "Amrut" in ayurveda can be precured from forest. Collection of these items and supply to the units which are making medicines without the middleman can be helpful to the person who are collecting the items, Nation and public at large
sir, there are many things in forest like harbal beatu products ,dentel product, skin prduct make our forest adivasi government create special deppartment for marketing in this work govt should support unemployed youth also give trademark to forest product government should be support of bannk bank should be give loan to adivasi &also sold this product to bank account holder through this income bank also take & clean adivasi brothers loan acoount
1.Weekly bazar to start exclusively for minor forest products in near by cities of the forest.2.certain space such as open ground, exhibition areas to be exclusively kept reserved to sell their products with out any charges.3.local government such as municipality, gram panchayat, state government or NGO's may provide them to and fro free transport facilities to bring their product in the market.4. No tax to be imposed on these people by local 5. This process to be supervised by local government
I would like to suggest to create brands of the forest outputs or adivasi areas and promote them nationally and internationally. All efforts should also be made to ensure that the proceeds go to the creaters of artifacts . Promoting goods made by the forest outputs could be most effectively done by social media not only in India but all over the world. Also the artisens could be given a market orientation so that they make the goods that the market absorbs... OTOP of Thailand is a good example.
How about packaging #MFPs in hygienic manner and marketing those at Khadi Gramodyog stores across the country? Ministry of Forests, ministry of Tribal affairs and Ministry of MSME may need to work together for that.
There is lot of scope to set up value addition units through collecting the NTFP products in a sustainable way in organised manner basing on the market needs to manufacture products like natural dyes & gums, herbal extracts & powders, bio pesticides, natural wax, processed honey, tamarind bricks, broom, essential oils, vettiver mats etc. If we put efforts in right way by studying the domestic & international market needs we can definitely make use of all NTFP collections on a sustainable way.
Mass production is not a solution, the aim should be to make the produce coveted by the Urban client and a way of life for the Rural populace........:)
2) Tussar Silk is also known as wild silk or Ahimsa silk, rearing, reeling and dyeing (using natural dyes) can be demonstrated and small scale manufacturing facilities set up to enable making and selling on the premises itself, works as a great tourist destination for all. The place can be developed as a sustainable commune.
3) Growing natural fiber producing plants e.g. sisal, hemp, etc and agin work on the principle of demonstration and small scale manufacturing.
