This policy sets out the Government’s approach on the use of “Open APIs” to promote software interoperability for all e-Governance applications & systems and provide access to data & services for promoting participation of citizens and other stakeholders.

You are requested to provide your inputs on the policy and suggest implementation approach across the government.

While designing system for Open API's, developers need to be very sure about what needs to be Open and what should be private to government organizations. Making things public means opening your data/information to the entire world which could be a big security threat. Security is a major challenge when you want to design a system like this on such a large scale.
