In order to design an interoperable ecosystem of data, applications and processes, there is a need to formulate a policy for the Government Organizations to provide Open Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). The “Policy on Open APIs for Government of India” has been drafted to encourage formal use of Open APIs in Government Organizations. This policy sets out the Government’s approach on the use of “Open APIs” to promote software interoperability for all e-Governance applications & systems and provide access to data & services for promoting participation of citizens and other stakeholders.

You are requested to provide your inputs on the policy and suggest implementation approach across the government.

I have detailed a project on materials management which will integrate all the concerned departments and reduce the human interface across buyers and sellers. This will inturn reduce corruption in a big way and the end result will be reduction in inflation to a great extent. But knowing the earlier goverments I was sure that they wud be least interested to implement this project. Since I had conceived this project 15 years back, Iam confident of developing the tools and implement it successfull

Urban villages There was an article in the TOI on an urban village called Pilanji which happens to be in the heart of New Delhi. What was outlined in this article is the story of all urban villages. The system of Lal Dora that defines the territory of these villages came into being with the urban expansion of Delhi. As areas around these villages got urbanised , these villages small islands that were neither integrated into the urbanised areas nor came under the municipal corporation.

Smart cities.... What is a smart city... In my view a city that functions well, provides a good quality of life to its citizens , is vibrant with opportunities and provides a roadmap for growth is a smart city. Today none of our cities are in this category. Our cities as they are today , are a result of un planned growth leading to a variety of issues such as .... private use of public spaces , blatant encroachments , mountains of garbage, lack of potable water, open or no sewerage , lack
