This chapter explores the range of possible roles for federal agencies, provides examples of how these roles are implemented both for personal protective technologies (PPT) and for other consumer and industrial products, and highlights the committee’s thoughts on the strengths and limitations of these roles as specifically related to improving non-respirator PPT for worker safety and health.
Many U.S. government agencies have been and continue to be active in ensuring the consistency and safety of products and services through a wide range of activities.

Upon receipt of the application form, all applications will be reviewed and if
the applicant fulfils the requirements as specified in the proposed draft regulation,the application shall be placed before the Screening committee for making recommendations to the Authority for recognition of theAuditing Agency.If necessary the committee can conduct assessment of theauditors of the Agency before grantingrecognition. Assessment can include Oral Interview or written exam as the committee decide.
There is no guideline regarding process of recruitment of staff in assessment agencies and Awarding bodies and also about eligibility of staff.
A transparent process of recruiting staff for these agencies should be introduced and scope should be given to all to participate in such process. Favouritism and discrimination should not be allowed in this process.

Assessing Agency should perform its duty impartially without prejudice of caste creed religion.
Recruitment in assessing agencies should be pan India and impartial based only on merit.with no place for recommendation and inter view.
