How to Control Growth of Heavy Vehicular Traffic & Traffic Safety in UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli?

Start Date :
Mar 31, 2015
Last Date :
Mar 31, 2016
18:00 PM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Dadra & Nagar Haveli is well connected by road and Rail with rest of the country. The NH-8 provides the major road connectivity to the study area. With rapid Urbanization and ...
build public transport like trams, BRTS or metro encourage people to use the public transport instead of their own vehicles and make sure the fare is cheap.
#DadraandNagar Haveli, #UnionTerritory, #UT, #MyGov: Any UT in India will become smart if it has a) SMART VEHICLES with License plates having RFID chips b) Smart driving license having RFID chips c) SMART ROADS having RFID receivers to monitor traffic. The detailed suggestions for Chandigarh is given as pdf attached. It should be adopted for all over India
The number plates on many vehicles in cities are so fancy that it is impossible to read vehicle number. My suggestions are as folloWS:
1. The font size of number should be standard enough to read effectively.
2. The taillight of vehicles should be compulsory
3. The companies should not sel l vehicl es without registration
transport sector needs to be corruption free. In India discipline needs to be enforced . It should be done by punitive fines. No body obeys traffic rules leading to accidents. administration should be ruthless in fining defaulters. There will be lot of representation and protests but the police should be strict. install CCTV cameras in all places and monitor traffic. defaulters to be booked/ fined based on CCTV footage.
#DadraandNagar Haveli, #UnionTerritory, #UT : It can be solved easily . The solution involves 3 steps. The detailed plan is attached as a PDF. The same can be adopted all over India.
There should be a recommdative body to the state Municipal bodies who would be actively recommending the alternative roadways and other traffic modalities from time to time, there should be a mechanism from the central govt who would analyze the social and population pattern who would recommend alternative traffic paths that could be build by the stategovt. This body should contain experts who only research and recommend only(to all towns and cities)
Easiest way is to educate people "How to drive"
Make it hard to get license
Introducing best practices in Driving Test
Heavy Vehicle should drive in a separate lane ...also certain area where speed detectors and cameras should installed ..
Monitor real time traffic through satellite
Invoked real time unit ( 24 *7 ) for emergency incident , resolving traffic in few
For traffic safety first make licence giving system effective as the age of 18 is mandatory for licence but not sufficient a person should know the traffic rules and clear a driving test only the he should be given licence for more you can learn from Kerala's system.I read that they have very good infra for this.Next one is we should make rules and regulations simple for those who help someone in road accident and promote these by giving rewards and by campaigning to promote humanity at thattim
By making public transport system readily available with better facilities control on heavy vehicular traffic can be done
vehicular traffic can be controlled with implementation of dedicated and saperate pathways for heavy vehicle, two wheelers and public transport along with implementation of one way road traffic programmes.
