India has a long tradition of excellence in making handloom products with extraordinary skills and craftsmanship. 44 lakh weavers are engaged in this activity, out of which 78% are ...
All shopping mall to ensure that 50% Indian brands to showcase. This condition to be applied while issuing license or renew the license.
today is the fasion world ...i think if our celebreties will endorse the product the handloom will be promoted...as people follow them..and online marketing is very imp....
encourage the SSI units & co-operatives sell their products through Govt. promoted web sites.
Now a days people like online shopping, so shopping sites which sell hand loom made products should be promoted by government. It has many benefits, first, it is INDIAN product, second, it helps in nation building and also, it gives poor weavers job opportunity. one such example is " www.ecotech.net.in ".
I've purchased a few products fr this site and believe me, they are very good. I suggest all of you reading this to try at least once.
I have seen the poor conditions of weavers at Kumbakonam. This is mainly due to poor wages given to the weavers.
So, pl decide a slab for paying the weavers.
Create more tech parks for garment industry.
Reduce taxes on raw materials.
Regular information upgrades for people of the industry.
Encourage research and development .
More government organizations to buy directly from the weavers.
Pass the profit to the weavers.
More district awards for beat weavers.
1. Create International Exhibition across the globe( USA,APAC,Europe..) where people has buying power[ only by Handloom owner]
2.use #India Digital platform to spread Handloom
3. Use brand ambassador to promote
4. Spread it in new fashion trend( through Movie -example in Chennai Express we showed "South Indian Silk" & that has increased the sale by atleast few %)
All this need to be done in tandem
1. Young designers should be motivated to use handloom for all sections.this will bring in a fashion that can easily attract buyers.
2.promote international designers to take indian handloom on international platform
3.online handloom fair on secleted dates with heavy discounts. This will attract for buyers.
4.less tax on purchase of indian handloom. Swadeshi benefit.
I hope my inputs might generate bigger minds to make bigger ideas.
Pl ask Flipkart/ snapdeal to act like Alibaba and Join small-time family-based manufacturers to sell products directly
If just one Mr Kurien could transform the ‘Milk Industry’
Why cannot more ‘Mr Kurien’ come forward and ‘Cooperative-ize’ other unorganised sectors like Banarasi Saree,Farm sector(especially Marginal Farmers who buy larger farming equipment using joint financial capabilities, Rural Artisans/Craftsmen etc
Government should focus on reducing the cost of factors needed to make clothes such as yarn. Besides try to reduce burden on manufacturers by encouraging them and proving useful services such as encouraging them for export and import. today in this field the dealers suffer a heat of fraud and to reduce this government should make compulsory registration of all the wholesalers and retailers. Also they can start various helpful schemes such as provident funds for workers, low interest rate on trade
