How to tackle insanitary latrines?

Start Date :

Existence of insanitary latrines is the root cause of manual scavenging. As per the ‘Houselisting and Housing Census Data, 2011’, there were about 26 lakh insanitary ...
THERE SHOULD BE AN AUTOMATIC SYSTEM FOR TOILETS FLUSH THAT WHEN THE USER STEP DOWN THE SHEET IT SHOULD RELEASE WATER FROM THE FLUSH TANK AND THIS CAN BE DONE WITH A SIMPLE MECHANISM WITHOUT USING EVEN SENSOR .
SAME MECHANISM CAN BE USED IN URINALS .
IN THIS THE USER HAS TO STAND OR CLIMB ON A STAND TO USE THE URINAL AND WHEN HE STEP DOWN IT RELEASE WATER .
DOING THIS WE CAN RESOLVE THE PROBLEM TO AN EXTENT.
I WANT TO BE A PART OF SANITATION PROGRAM AS I HAVE NUMEROUS IDEAS TO CLEAN INDIA.
First, provide 24 hour ample water to each latrine. Proper drainage, gutter and recycle solid waste is important. All restaurants and hotels on highways and roads must have a license to operate and must have minimum 6 latrines: 3 for gents, 3 for ladies; and 6 urinals: 3 for gents, 3 for ladies. There should be "Rest Area" at every 100 kilometers on highways similar to USA. Water wells should be drilled where needed for water supply. Post signs on each toilets to keep it clean. Same in cities.
Education of the masses is the first and the basic step towards it. Till the time we people don't realize ourselves that it is us and not some alien entity who is responsible for the insanitary condition of latrines. Awareness regarding the ill consequences of insanitary latrines is the need of the hour. Campaigns may be organised to facilitate people for maintaining hygiene of latrines. This will further motivate other people that they can also contribute towards good condition of latrines.....
sir hum aapke saath he swach bharat abhiyan me
1. by providing adequate water supply and sanitary staff for cleaning the latrines
2. by sensitizing the users regarding the health benefits of toilet use by inviting doctors, public health engineers and NGOs for awareness generation.
3. ensuring active participation of users and other stakeholders from the planning stage up to operation and maintenance (O&M) stage.
4. ensuring proper O&M arrangements even while planning for the toilets.
5. proper septage management & ensure necessary O&M.
without controlling the population you cannot dream of SWACHH BHARAT
Convert all such latrines into traditional Indian style ones linked to a sewer waste management system. Each radius of 10 kmm must have one sewage treatment plant with facility to generate energy and recycle water for ancillary uses.
One of the main reason of in-sanitation in latrines is that there is no or lack of water along with people who do cleaning.
If we want to give India a world class infrastructure, we have to immediately stop making traditional style toilets in public places!
Lets take an idea from airplanes, we can make a toilet that has vacuum flush, that greatly reduces effort in cleaning along with reducing water requirement
Cleaners should be equipped with sophisticated equipment to clean instead of brooms
HOW COME MODHI JI, YOU EXPECT A SWACH BHARATH WITH OUT STOPPING THE MANUFACTURING OG GUTKA AND PANPARAG IN INDIA, WITH OUT BUILDING COMMAN BUBLIC TOILETS AND ENGAGING STAT OF ART CLEANING STUFFS TO INDIA CLEANERS AND SCAVENGERS AND EMPLOYING MORE PPPPPPP IN CLEANING WORKS, WHITH OUT PROPER DRAINAGES AND WITH OUT PROPER DISPOSAL GROUNDS AND TECHNIQUES TO DESTROY WASTES, I REALLY APPRICIATE YOUR CHOTA KAM OF SWATCH BHARATH, WITH OUT PROVIDING PROPER INFRASTRUCTURES TO KEEP CLEAN I HOPE YOU WENT AB
