Existence of insanitary latrines is the root cause of manual scavenging. As per the ‘Houselisting and Housing Census Data, 2011’, there were about 26 lakh insanitary latrines in the country in 2011. All existing insanitary latrines need to be identified and either demolished or converted into sanitary latrines under the provisions of the MS Act.

What innovations can be used to convert insanitary latrines into sanitary latrines in shortest possible time?

AS today all people including rural might have mobiles but not toilets.
since mobile can be purchased but not toilet. We can make a complete modular toilet.
Which will be portable, reliable and efficient to use.

Think that we have
1 water tanks of plastic/fiber.
2 Pipes of plastic/fiber
3 doors and windows of plastic/fiber.
4 Absorbs fan of plastic/fiber.
Complete mold for toilet could be made. A single unit made of plastic. We can use Waste plastic too for this. Engineers can help

The Swachh Bharat Mission will go a long way for integrating a category of society into mainstream India. Other benefits of this simple but revolutionary move are reduction in the expenditure of prevention and cure of diseases, utilization of the savings on other developmental activities, generation of employment in highly unorganized sanitary industry, tourism sector, etc. It will provide new impetus to Indian economy and respect in the eyes of foreign visitors.

The scavengers, also referred to by the more dignified term “sanitary workers”, come from the lower strata of society and the Swachh Bharat Mission will go a long way in creating a situation whereby this age old manual Scavenging (inhuman/demeaning) practice will be eliminated and those involved are respectfully rehabilitated.

Sanitation is the basis of a healthy and civilized living.Absence of sanitation facilities lead to water-borne diseases. Those who use dry latrines and those who are engaged in the demeaning occupation of manually Scavenging human excreta are exposed to innumerable health risks.Unemployment & Lack of interest in sanitation issues is a major constraint this may be curb through Public Distribution system after identification of insanitary latrine the subsidized ration facility may be withdrawn.

Mr. Prime Minister, would request you to please open a channel for taxpayer like us to contribute some donation for toilets in Villages. On Womens day, the documentary on ABP news is heartening and feeling shame to be citizen of this country who cannot grant a right to defect for our daughters, mothers and sisters. We are eager to contribute if our govt.after 65 years cannot grant this right to our women.

Providing water facility for 24/7 is mandatory to keep them clean. Inefficient water supply is an issue from the administration. This should be avoided. Continuous water supply will increase the cleanliness.

funding for toilet is good, frame method about soak pit, guarantee that water should not contaminate underground well,we need to work on easy technique for latrines water/bath cooking water purification, ingenious search is required about plants, trees which soaks or purifies water naturally,so also coal,or research to make small solar machine which soak water in air, urgent zero cost solution is required otherwise all underground water will spoil.

Currently we are having same pipe line in flats for collecting both latrine water and other water used for washing, bathing and cooking; Separate those pipe lines; Also, in each street, atleast one plot should be vacant under the control of Government where, the sewage water should be collected from houses in two different sumps as mentioned above. The second can be recycled and the first one may be converted as urea and used to grow plants in a park (for every 3 streets, there should be a park)
