A huge amount of Govt. money is spent on subsidy of petroleum products. The Govt. had to spend Rs. 1,39,869 crore on account of subsidy on petroleum products in the year 2013-14. As, the indigenous availability of crude Oil and LPG is limited, these are imported in huge quantities to fulfill the demand of the country.  As Govt. provides domestic LPG and PDS Kerosene on subsidised price, this results in huge subsidy burden on Govt. Due to presence of dual pricing(subsidized and non-subsidized) in LPG and SKO, there is a diversion of subsidized LPG and Kerosene into commercial usage. Although Govt. has taken several initiatives to reduce this diversion of subsidized LPG and PDS Kerosene, public participation is solicited to suggest ways for reducing diversion in LPG and PDS Kerosene.

You are invited to suggest ideas to reduce diversion and the subsidy burden on account of LPG and Kerosene.

Sir, A huge amount of Govt money is spent on subsidy of petro products instead of the subsidy provide solar panels, solar heaters, cookers, wind power ,electric scooters subsidy to the beneficiary citizen, instead of the total subsidized amount provided the same can be given in the name of points and these total points will enable the beneficiary (solar panels, solar heaters, cookers, wind power ,electric scooters free ) slowly but steadily the consumption will reduce and also the burden of subsidy

NAMO- With the increase in the petrol and Diesel prices in TELANGANA we are all still charged 2 rupees EXTRA per litre for VAT which was increased due to the fall in Oil prices- this needs to be corrected; As the rise and fall of prices monitored by central government and state govt looks not benefitial to a common TAX PAYER ----- Price set by central govt. is not same in all the states and price set by the state govt is not strictly followed all accross the state. Each petrol pump charges with a diference of 40 to 50 paise per litre - which is an open loot from a common man and TAX PAYERS ;; Please justify our taes paid and please monitor the divided states of TELANGANA and ANDHRA save the TAX PAYERS

All PDS distribution / kerosene etc. should be through smart ration cards linked to Aadhaar so that no diversion takes place in distribution of food, LPG, kerosene, fertilizers etc.

Continuing with my previous message, I think kerosene should be targeted only to those who do not use subsidized LPG and who do not have electricity connection in their homes. This will significantly reduce the subsidy burden and availability of subsidized fuel in the market. Second, like LPG, even the kerosene subsidy for this targeted group may be brought under direct benefit transfer scheme.

While subsidized kerosene is very important to poor people, it is also one of highly diverted fuel due to which intended subsidy is not reaching the desired set of people. The price difference in market price vs subsidized price will make oil mafia thrive. (1 of 2)
