A huge amount of Govt. money is spent on subsidy of petroleum products. The Govt. had to spend Rs. 1,39,869 crore on account of subsidy on petroleum products in the year 2013-14. ...
Petroleum products are stolen from tankers. While delivering to petrol pumps, quantity is tampered. Kerosene dealers steal it. How can it be controlled when officials are often involved. How can India shine as long as this urge for illegitimate EXTRA INCOME is rampant in people. Everybody hates giving bribe, but they don't mind taking it.
If some light user consumer does not book LPG cylinder for 6 month then he needs to again submit the KYC details and to avoid all these hassles he start giving his quota cylinders to others.
re-submission of KYC should only be necessary if a consumer does not book a cylinder in 12 months.
(1) The LPG subsidy should be differential and not uniform like at present.
details:There are lot of consumers who consume less than 3-4 cylinders a year, and rest of their quota cylinders find their way to other users.
to plug this loophole differential subsidy system should be implemented: Higher subsidy for the first cylinder and then gradually reducing subsidies for subsequent cylinders.
12th cylinder should almost cost a notch less than the unsubsidized cylinder.
Dear Mr.PM
It is good initiative started about the requesting to drop subsidy amount on gas cylinder. I just want to give you add my suggestion to improve and success of this initiative. My suggestion is that if any of the person takes no. of gas cylinder per year gives income tax exemption. for e.g. i will take gas cylinder 8 per year then 8*700 =5600 (700 amount is non-subsidise gas cylinder amount). so each of the tax payer gets total tax exemption as 250000+5600 per year
Giving up subsidy can be made more flexible and more wider, means customer can be given Option to drop subsidy at a particular booking and asked at every cylinder either they want subsidy on this particular cylinder or not. by this Middle class also will join the movement and participate when they have availability of cash and ask for subsidy of the cylinder when their budget gets disturbed.
Dear sir, still there are some psu's who are rembursing there lpg bill of there employees, from which crores of subsidy money can be saved.ihave some information can share pls contact for details 9437006835.I also have an master plan to double the production of coal in atleast MAHANADI COAL FIELDS LTD .WHICH IS IN ODISHA
If customer have to register or link their Aadhar with their bank and gas connection company for subsidy, then there should be an option on the company website to link the Aadhar with their existing consumer number and company. It will be beneficial for both, company and consumer. On the other hand If consumer wants to book refill online on BaratGas portal then he is unable to book, because for new user registration OTP doesn't send/generate to register online.
Fully endorse concept of giving up LPG subsidy by all who can afford to pay. Happy to note that lot of people have responded PM's appeal & 1 out of 4 Mumbaikar has also given up subsidy option. I'm also going to join them today itself. Would also like to suggest: (a) Govt should give an appreciation cert. to those giving up LPG subsidy as an encouragement. It will also spread awareness among others & (b)Subsidy option should be compulsorily stopped for HIG (say Income >5L)& their family members
sir, voluntry giving up LPG subsidy is absulutely very good idea but why not we are going for more simple, practical and participatory idea like for example; appeaaling nation to cook food in pressure cooker, using sperator in cooker for cooking multiple food, cooking food on low flame.i myself feel aswell as i have seen that it works well, not only it saves fuel but also time for other creative purpose.my best wishes for ur down to earth approch sir.'jai hind'
Giving up LPG subsidy is a good idea because we need to Import LPG from Abroad.
My concern is why can’t we reduce our dependency of imported LPG?
Can we not increase production of BIOGAS? We have all the ingredients required to increase the supply.
We have biggest Cattle population in the world; we can easily be world’s biggest Milk producing nation, use bio-gas in kitchen or power vehicles, and use the rest as fertilizer than chemical ones. This can also help save us dollars.
