Implementation of Transport Planning for Kakinada City

Start Date :
Nov 02, 2015
Last Date :
Nov 16, 2015
00:00 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
The existing transport planning is not at satisfactory level in Kakinada Municipal Corporation. Preliminary proposals are initiated for improvement of the traffic. ...
Strict vigilance on protecting road margins and foot paths on all roads from encroachers of small business, push cart hawkers, etc. with the provision of vending zones to carry out their small business. This will provide clear traffic and prohibition of spillover traffic
Provision of foot paths for pedestrians and road tracks for cyclists to promote safe walking and cycling for better promotion of health towards conservation of fossil fuels
City should be connected from all corners as well as peripheral villages with the introduction of City Buses through A.P.S.R.T.C. and Private Operators on a specified route map and bus bays with installation of Digital Public Information Kiosks on Time Table and movement position
Enhancement of sufficient Human Resources of Police Department in Traffic as well as all support system for complete enforcement of respective enactments and the penal system should be judicious with quick time resolution for building confidence levels for all law abiding citizens
24 X 7 Traffic Signal Illumination should be provided by the Police Department on all Junctions and Intersections and heavy traffic roads supported by CCTV Surveillance
APSRTC out bound halt location at Jagannaickpur is to be shifted with the provision of a proper bus shelter at an appropriate place in and around that locality
Relocation of bus parking of private operators on the road margins between P.R.Govt.College and McLaurin High School. Bus parking is their lookout in their premises.
Autonagar at Madhavapatnam is to be fully utilised for all parking or establishment of service work shops to avoid City encroachments.
Developing multilevel parking facility at Santhacheruvu
It is not possible to developmeultilevelparking at this place, as the the Govt.owned prime space on the eastern portion of Santhacheruvu is wholly occupied in encroachments since decades in religious structures. Like wise encroachments or approved small business on all other three sides of this lake. All road margins are occupied by smallbusinesses beyond their premises, which should be curbed and the Corporation should reclaim its land
Like IT company In a smart city information should be available in a transparent way through website of all departments. Departments should have web application and department email id for approvals for any service request there should be online submitting of request and callcenter facility should be available. service timeframe should be there and service request should be closed by requester only. unless request should be in open state and should move to higher authorities for proper action.
A. Satellite bus stations can solve traffic problems, route planning and time say Ex: for Vizag route setup busstop near sarpavaram or near by area Etc.
B. Traffic police should concentrate more on violators and regulating traffic than checking records.
C. Instead of Route showing boards with distance, area boards, I see lots of flex with political leaders wishes with photos
