LPG is one of the ‘clean’ cooking fuel with present consumer base of 17cr in the country and present coverage is 60% of the households. Government of India is committed to increase LPG coverage in the country to 75% of the household. Present, LPG distributor network has more than 17000 distributors spread having presence in both Rural and Urban areas of the Country. Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India is of the view that there is a need to increase of LPG coverage in the rural areas considering the benefits of LPG in terms of health and environment. Ministry recognizes that availability, accessibility and affordability of LPG are the key factors to increase the LPG coverage in rural areas. This can be done with bringing in new distributorships aligning with challenges encountered with respect of making them available to the last mile.

Therefore, Ministry solicits suggestions/inputs from citizens on the new model of distributorship particularly for the areas such as Hilly/Desert/Densely forested/other difficult locations. Also, to suggest names of locations which require establishing new distributorship.

The extant Guidelines for Selection of Distributorship is available on www.petroleum.nic.in

It's hard to get an LPG connection for people who come from other cities & stay in rented flat with friends. I've to purchase it in Black paying double to the person in Kolkata city itself. The worst is those black cylinders are also not 100% capacity. Either stop black or increase the lpg distribution chain and make it easy for students & workers who shift from city to city. #LPG #MoPNG #BlackLPG

Stop selling of Beyond LPG Items through distributorship that is a big hurdle in maximizing the coverage as the financial burden from day1 has been put on the consumers through force selling of items with new connections, any new distributorship launched in the country started the selling of hotplates from the day 1 thus the needful consumer has to purchase LPG from the black marketers or from non authorized outlets.

In order to extend coverage of LPG to rural India, Delivery system should be amended. Presently it is mandatory to make home delivery, which is not practical for rural area. In my view a distributor's vehicle should be fixed to visit a Gram Panchyat on fixed day/tim every week say "Monday at 10-11AM distributor's vehicle will be available at Panchayat Bhavan". All customer in that panchyat can make manual booking and take immediate delivery on spot. so every panchayat can be covered immediately.

Sir
It is also important to mention that there is need of 5kg domestic lpg cyl and these 5kg cyl should be given under running bpl scheme as you are giving 14.2 kg cyl in bpl scheme and some time they are not having such money to refill the cylinder .so introduce 5kg domestic lpg cyl especially for bpl family it will increase the use of lpg in untouched areas of society and its price will under approach of every poor people , who are using natural resoures as fuel .

Dear PM Sir, Removal of LPG subsidy for people earning more than 10Lacs / annum is a welcome step. Now how about removal of reservations for people earning more than 10Lacs / annum, no matter whether they are SC, ST, OBC, GC or any other category. Rule is an Rule and Rule for all. Then only this country will develop equally & Homogeneously. INR.10Lacs/annum is not a great amount to manage / sustain / survive the Middle class families in these days. Ration / utilities/ fuel / school fees etc...
