Start Date :

Last Date :

Although Indian Railways enjoy the highest captive eyeballs in a railway system internationally, it earns less than 5% of its revenues through non-tariff sources. Many of the world ...
Charge your services on passenger's requirements. There are people who are literally unable to pay even your subsidized tic
Dear sir, like ntpc, ongc railway should to plan for ipo and collect a massive ammount, and i observe that many non productive manufactring works continue so stop such activites.
I am Indian, so railway department is very big department and per day crores traveling man and woman.every railway station very strong security and railway coch security very important India is very big country.any department security is very important.
Cut down internal costs. More often than not it is the internal costs which make you heavy. DO NOT ALWAYS BLAME THE PASSENGERS... though they are a reason but your staff makes them so.
Have a detailed study of your expenses, staff, assets utilisation, etc and then you will see where the fault lies.
Major non-fare income sources are:
1)"Advertisements" like hoardings, banners, posters, etc. in the railway stations and coaches.
2) "Real estate" - Lease/ Rent of the railway lands.
3) Availability of basic healthcare like weighing machines, automatic BP monitoring and other non-invasive diagnostic & monitoring tools in the railway stations and if possible in the coaches also.
4) Providing entertainment games, etc. in the railway stations.
1. Sophisticated paid lounges with clean wash room facilities in major railway stations
2. Ayurvedic product and khadi shops ( spacious)
3. Separate paid smoking zone, fines for smoking in other areas
4. Smart entry system to stations with a paid smart card
Need to hike the prices at where you r going to subsidize. That means needed to cut the all type of subsidiary, which are given by railway to the traveller.
1. Enforce ticket checking in stations and carriages strongly. Railways is losing a lot of income in ticketless travel all over India.
2. Unreserved travel in reserved coaches has become a menace. Increase the fine for such travel and enforce it strongly.
If you do these two properly, Railways will stand to gain hundreds of crores of rupees.
Real Estate :Start a new company to develop commercial lands to built office complexes and let out to other state/central government departments.
Food : Any multiplex in the country is surviving because of food courts. We can invite large corporates/MNCs to setup master kitchens at major stations in each division. They will supply good quality food at all stations in the division. We will discontinue existing canteen system.
Mobile towers can be placed all over India and lease them
