Although Indian Railways enjoy the highest captive eyeballs in a railway system internationally, it earns less than 5% of its revenues through non-tariff sources. Many of the world ...
Demand for rail travel is booming, more than
at any time in almost 100 years. I want the
railway to cater for and stimulate that growing
demand by a programme of sustained
investment to improve capacity and reliability;
and through the industry committing itself to
continuous business improvement in areas
like customer service, information, ticketing
and retailing, and by working together to make
the railways more affordable. That way the
clear benefits and opportunities.
To increase the revenue for Railways
Example: Raiways has quota for every stations.Suppose Trichy has 10 quota's
A train like Kaniyakumari express which leaves Kaniyakamari with 10 seats vacant upto Trichy. Railways can come up with a toll free number where people can check and use the facilities upto Trichy. This plan would increase the revenue. The operating margins of the Railways will improve if successfully implemented for all the stations enroute.
Please implement the following innovative ideas to increase the revenue in Indian Railways.
Rail Loyalty Schemes-Already a major part of business for the airline industry, passenger loyalty schemes – structured marketing efforts that reward, and therefore encourage, loyal buying behavior – are a developing trend for rail operators. The development of loyalty schemes has become particularly important in deregulated markets where the passenger has a number of choices over a particular route. It will a Points-based scheme with points being able to be redeemed for a number of rewards, travel
No. Of double decker is the solution to overcome the seating arrangement for the passengers.
Without increasing the fares, the following innovative ideas to be implemented to increase the Railways Revenue.
All train should have automated speaker as in luxury train. Through speaker all passenger can get proper information about their upcoming station mostly at night or station board should be painted through floroscense type material by which board will glow at night we read it carefully which station is passes.
Indian railway fare has been tremendously increased from last 10 to 15 months. It has become an issue to over several times before planning a journey.please have a concern for that.
It is pathetic that very senior citizens or citizens with disabilities(physically challenged) cannot use the railways. Citizens in wheelchair cannot use the railway at all anyways, but at least please provide elevators for senior citizens to access the platforms from the street. To avoid abuse by general public, Elevators should be designed with a controlled access that can be accomplished by integrating the access chip into the Senior Citizen's card.
