Although Indian Railways enjoy the highest captive eyeballs in a railway system internationally, it earns less than 5% of its revenues through non-tariff sources. Many of the world railway systems generate 10% to 20% of their revenues from non-tariff sources.

IR typically has focused on increasing revenues through tariff hikes. It wants to change this and challenge the conventional thinking by exploiting new sources of revenue so that every asset, tangible or non-tangible, gets optimally monetized

We invite ideas from citizens on increasing non fare revenue for Indian Railways.

in indian railway to introduce solar trains,solar penals on the top of the trains for less conservation of diesal and oils and also to reduce the pollution

My Suggestion
1)All Rail Ticket must Capture ID Proof (no Ticket without ID)
2) Ticket Should Show Each Charges
3) Tickets according to Facilities Required
4) TC to Punch All Reservation Online*****
5) General Tickets Restriction accordingly to Trains
6) Easy Access to 139
7) All Station include Ticket Booking must use Debits or Credit Card Machines include TC Receipt Online
8) Avoid or No Cash Transaction in Railways including Labour Payments
9)SMS Facility of Train Arrival

Hello Sir,
I am Lokesh.
My points is:
Also there is excess wastage of electricity due to unnecessary use of lights, tubelights, charger points are kept open although it is not necessary.Also there should be written/ banner at every possible place to aware regarding to save electric energy. Also more efficient Fans , Bulbs must be replace by newer ones like LEDs.

Hello Sir,
I am Lokesh.
My points is:
In each and every compartment there should be Automated Dusbin which work on Air/ Vaccum suction. After collecting all that garbage it can be cleared at all the junction stationsSo that the garbage which we indian usually throw outside the window.Will start throwing in that dusbin only . This is possible only by providing Dusbin in all compartment will reduce garbage quantity upto certain extent.

My points is:
There should be continuous monitoring of Railway tracks. Equipment or device which are necessary to measure the conditions must be placed in each and every train.So due to which we will get continous updates regarding tracks.By continous measurement due to trackers or sensors and we can replace the faulty track and can reduce the chances of accident.

Dear sir,
The idea for indian railway.
1) Train engine must be look rock and expensive.
2) passager life is important , so the high specific safety need , In train fire blast has lot .
So automatic fire controler , emergency alert for fire.
3) Train must look , clean and design look , outer train look design colour full and attractive .
4) Free Entertainment in train , music and movie like flight

Sir,
There should be real time(strain by station) seat availability be made available.

When last station is about 100-150 km, especially for the trains which reach in the morning (since it's rush hour,rush for general bogie will be more), why can't those empty sleeper seats be offered at station itself, when we go to buy general tickets at regular ticket price.
These sleeper seats be offered first to old, women first
This will save empty rides by train+ppl hu avoid gen coz of rush vl ad

#Current Booking/Reservation Compartment

Not All people could plan their journey in advance,For them only choice is un-reserved compartment,Instead of tariff hike we can include a compartment for current booking and it should be allocated to people only through counter and fare same as for reserved,Most people travel uncomfortably in un-reserved compartment ready to pay the same as they seats are reserved for them and they prefer railways instead of other kinds for their journey.
