Although Indian Railways enjoy the highest captive eyeballs in a railway system internationally, it earns less than 5% of its revenues through non-tariff sources. Many of the world ...
1. A fine dine coach in long distance trains which can cater to passengers , provide entertainment (TV, Movies, games) based on reservation basis.
2. Paid assistance facilities-baggage pick and drop, wheelchair, personal assistant(Coolies can be trained and institutionalized as personal assistants) for Senior citizens/passengers with injuries etc. The same can be made free for handicapped.
3. Freight revenue can be increased by providing door to door pick and drop services same as courier

Hello,
I would like to add few thoughts related to the ircrt ticketing system. Every individual is suffering problem while booking a tatkal ticket now a days. Earlier we use to get tatkal ticket easily. As the fares are increasing day by day and on top of that we need to run behind an agent to get the ticket after paying a huge sum. So this is a real burden on general public. One suggestion is to block all the agents login during the tatkal hours so that the general public gets ticket easily.
Trains boggies themselves be used for advertisement purposes. Advertising should be allowed on the outside of train boggies. (just like we see in city buses).. This will increase non fare revenue.
Sir, I would like to share an idea about Cashless transactions at railway ticket counters. I would request you please read the file at-least once Registration Number : PMOPG/E/2016/0539457 it will also revenue for Indian Railways.
Why railway return 500 old note at ticket booking in yeshwantpur railway station Bangalore , when you Ban 500 Old note
1.Railway has its one communication network, excess\unused bandwidths can be given to Banks or some tele communication company.
2.No of wagons in the train can be increased \decreased depending upon the bookings of the ticket. Thus it will reduce fuel consumption and ensure capacity utilization.
1. Give First floor of railway buildings of many big cities to build hotels and other commercial activity.
2.Land near railway lines can be used for development of roads for transportation on revenue collection model. This will ensure safety of railway land from encroachment and reduce unmanageable crowd in trains.
3.Railway space should be allocate for advertisements.
4.Efficiency in delivery and movement of the Goods should be ensure with more accuracy to reduce damage payment.
