Start Date :
Jun 14, 2016
Last Date :
Jan 01, 2017
00:00 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Although Indian Railways enjoy the highest captive eyeballs in a railway system internationally, it earns less than 5% of its revenues through non-tariff sources. Many of the world ...
Fines on creating mess inside station premises with very effective staff will increase non- fare revenues to a great extent.
And for effective staff put strict penalties on the staff too by reducing their salary if found guilty in mismanagement of railways premises
Increase vacancy of cleaning staff.I ASK ONLY ONE THING:
If Metro RAILWAYS can be kept clean.then y not normal railways???
Secondly, provide a very strong FREE WIFI CONNECTIVITY in retiring rooms at least and If possible then on every major stations.
And WIFI connectivity in TRAINS TOO.
First of all impose serious fines on those who create mess in toilets by implanting CCTV OUTSIDE BATHROOM DOORS.
Also fines on those who create mess by spitting and urinating on tracks.SERIOUS TAX FINES.JUST LIKE METRO RAILWAYS.
Do not allow outside vendors in railways and express trains. They charge extra 10rs. On every edible item eg. Flavoured milk, chips packets, chocolates.
more RETIRING rooms where demanded.Incorporate SWATCH BHARATH mission with railway catering services for recycling the disposable and non disposables.Giving space for ADVERTISEMENT.Providing space for graded SHOPPING CENTERS within the railway complex.providing mini scale locker facilities with a particular charge.introducing PASS TIME FOODS along with typical foods.Providing WIFI services within the trains & availing an E-LIBRARY for the passengers at a minimal cost incorporating digitalindia
Summary of Best Suggestions here: 1. Smart Card Travel
2. Regulate entry and exit to stations the way it is done in airports
3. Malls and hotels in and around railway stations
4. Installation of solar panels on trains to save energy
5. Charge extra for too much luggage
6. Hefty fines for littering inside railway stations
7. Make transportation tariff competitive with road transport for short distances
8. More advertising in local trains
9. Paid Entertainment facilities for passengers
1. Develop hotel type accommodation at major tourist location with modern amenities at vacant railway lands. Charges should be market driven.
2. Make railway stations clean. The railway ticket checkers should not only make fines from ticket less persons but they should also fine steeply for those who make stations unclean/dirty. These fines should be 10 times than now.
3. Give on lease railway vacant places on stations for small departmental stores near platforms mainly .
AS RAILWAY AUTHORITY WANT TO INCREASE NON FARE REVENUE, THE FOLLOWING MEASURES MAY BE TAKEN:-
(I) DEPUTE A PART OF RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE & CIVIC VOLUNTEERS TO CATCH THE PEOPLE WHO R SPOILING THE CLEANNESS OF THE STATION & THEY MAKE FINE RS 500 FOR THAT AND A TARGET PER DAY MAY BE GIVEN TO THEM AND THEY HAVE TO FULFIL THAT. A PART OF FINE SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THEM AS COMMISSION. COMMISSION WILL GIVE INTEREST TO DO THE JOB
(II) IN THIS WAY RAIL WILL GET REVENUE , STATION WILL BECOME MORE CLEAN.
ticket collectors and ticket checkers be employed in major railway stations for implementing strict checks on ticketlesss travels
regulate the entry and exit to stations with proper gates and enforcement of platform tickets revenue collection
freight carriers be employes with civil private partnership so that proper accounting and management of parcels is done professionally and not disinterested persons sitting as booking clerks who turn away genuine customers and have their private subcontractors for marking and packing of scooters and other two wheelers eg amritsar and pathankot railway stations
