Increasing non-fare revenue for Indian Railways

Start Date :
Jun 14, 2016
Last Date :
Jan 01, 2017
00:00 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Although Indian Railways enjoy the highest captive eyeballs in a railway system internationally, it earns less than 5% of its revenues through non-tariff sources. Many of the world ...
Stop giving freebies to extended families of railway employees. Secondly subsidize the fares for railway employees and their immediate families, no free travelling.Thirdly revenue generated by hawkers selling eatables in trains should be accounted for as money is paid in cash.
Sir, I am a Sr.Citizen. I booked sleeper class rail ticket and got confirmed ticket. Due to some reason I couldn't travele and cancelled ticket 1 day before journey date but got zero refund.
Sir, it is not fair.Earlier there was only 25% deduction. In the name of Dalal every citizen should not be punished. Kindly get control on DALALs instead of punishing poor traveler.Such collection of revenue for Rly is unjustified and against poor.Kindly revise it as it was earlier.
Regards,
Rk Nishad
Please kindly sanction railway lines between major cities to go faster than flights and give impressive cost efficiencies to attract many people towards railways .please kindly manage to complete double line and electrification between nalgonda to guntur so that distance of travel for majority of trains & their respective costs decreases to have greater profits in Indian railways.
Railway general tekket ke liye ek wallet app mobile phone ke liye hona chahiye jish se ghar se bhi aur station par bhi jab chahe general tekket paa sake
#NonFareRevenue
here is a file attached with my ideas
1. Transporting auxiliary items such as bike, cars, other equipments with competitive price and ease of delivery.
2. Dedicated refrigerated vans in train for fast and safe delivery of early perishable goods.
3. Third party advertisement in and outside coaches and at railway platforms.
4. On board selling of auxiliary items during journey.
5. Promoting mobile and digital services for tickets, products & services by discounts & offers will reduce paper wastage & cost of distribution.
railways can more professional by introducing some commercial activities like introduce dedicated coach for goods transport in every train linked with commercial firms in this field by which IR may earn more revenue
Transport of stuff like bikes are currently avoided since it is a pain to go through the process. Improve the service like pick n drop at home so that people start using this service as compared to courier agencies.
If possible add an extra AC privileged entry coach to proivide sercices like spa, reading area, wi-fi, movie screening. Coaches would need to be redesigned for this however.
Indian Railway has the biggest network system in the world. I would like to suggest the rail tracks can be used for communication purpose all over india that can be given to the telecom companies for lend basis. How far it is possible I don't know, but still there is a hope for the same. If it is possible the profit is in crores of rupees only......
Digital India needs Highspeed Internet at cheaper cost and its very expensive to lay fiber optic cable for local internet providers, so as Railways has very vast presence around India it can be use to facilitate the Internet providers so that they can lay wires around railway tracks Or railway it self can lay the fiber optic cable along with their tracks to connect each city and villages in return the Internet providers pay them some monthly rent or some contractual price through auction.
