Increasing non-fare revenue for Indian Railways

Start Date :
Jun 14, 2016
Last Date :

Although Indian Railways enjoy the highest captive eyeballs in a railway system internationally, it earns less than 5% of its revenues through non-tariff sources. Many of the world ...
We need the develop the railways a lot in contrast with world class & new technologies, so for that we need capital & increasing non tariff revenue is good idea, this may very less impact the poor and middle class economic interests
some how railways railways should concentrate its core business of passenger transfer and freight services rather than concentrating on other non core aspect, for poor and middle class interests it should do.
like in case of water bottles of railway, poor wont
1. Leasing Railway land to Hotels/Lodges/Restaurants.
2. The clock displayed on platforms can be sponsored by some clock/watch manufacturing company.
3. Space for advertisement in long route trains.
4. Advertisement space on the trains (on sides of coaches).
5. Forget advertising government schemes on tickets, advertise for private players. You guys move the masses, everyone buys your tickets.
6.Advertisement of AC Companies inside AC Trains.
7.Advertisement of Logistic Companies on Locos.
Jis route pe jyada traffic hai aur
jahan superfast rail chalti hain wahan pawan oorja Ki sambhawana dekni chahiye
I would further like to appreciate the efforts taken by suresh sir, In linking with the modern generation in terms of providing the express speed trails, Wifi linkage with Google.. Techonology matters #MyGov #Indian Railways
Increasing Fare is not a objection from the public.
In Our country the cheapest and the safest mode of transport is Railways.
I feel proud to say that it is the largest in providing the employment.
But the Quality of service needs to be improved, With modernisation of this generation many start up ideas can be linked and provide opportunity for Innovative Youth.
To me cost never matters but the quality of service matters. I hope this is what expected for public.
I think a super mmarket of railway and lodge or hotels at all major stations will provide hike in non fare revenue.. almost every passange faces the same problem. As far as i'm a frecquent traveller. As to keep the trains and pltforms and station campus clean.. illigel hawkers, pan, gutka, etc. Should be be band.
Respected Sir
Essentially 'USE or Disposal' of 'Unused Assets' is most urgent. fast 'Decisions' are most essential. In a 'Democratic set up' though such decisions take long time.
Railways should utilize the space at stations, by building lodges/hotels at the stations itself...eg.upper floors can be built in collaboration with hotels etc..which can provide accommodation to its own passengers..
2.Upgrading the Pantry car. Apart from the regular delicacies available on the train,I would suggest you provide fast foods such as Manchuria and Noodles. This stuff is cheap to make and eaten by a wide range of people. Pricing and sizing them appropriately would be the best.
3.Providing wifi in stations was a great idea. Using the same idea in the train would be great.Charging them for the whole travel or in hourly packages would be great. This would be used large number of travellers.#IndRail
Being a seventeen-year-old, I would suggest the following things.
1. Set up recreational rooms. In these rooms, there should be electronic gaming platforms such as Sony PlayStation, Xbox. This might sound funny but people like me would definitely want to get their hands on these instruments. Charging them per hour would be the best. In these rooms itself if we setup e-libraries using devices such as Amazon Kindle and allowing people to read a various book would be apt.#NonFareRevenue #Indrail
